On Sunday Scorpions Boston Bateman saw his dreams turn to reality when the San Diego Padres selected him in the second round of the MLB draft. Boston is looking forward to making his hometown proud and is starting a foundation in honor of his childhood friend who passed away from cancer. We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in the future!

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Former Yellow Jacket Mason Johnson was sworn into the Oxnard Police Station last week. Johnson enters his final phase of becoming an officer, Field Training over the next 6 months. He credits his basketball career for developing his strong work ethic and learning how to work well on a team. 👮‍♂️

Adolfo Camarillo High School's star pitcher Boston Bateman was featured on News Channel 3-12 last night 📺 The 2024 Major League Baseball Draft begins this Sunday and Bateman is expected to be either a first day or early second day selection. ⚾️

Camarillo High School Principal Matt La Belle understood the assignment and delivered a memorable speech at yesterday’s graduation. 😂🎓

Frontier High School graduated their largest class ever with 238 students. Rockets Criminal Justice teacher Lorraine Miramontes tragically past away this April and was honored during the ceremony. Lorraine graduated Frontier High School in 1997 and returned as a teacher. Her son handed out a $500 scholarship to Rockets Alejandra Torres in her honor. 💛🖤🕊️

We're thrilled to announce that Adolfo Camarillo High School's Daniel Cook has been named the Ventura County Teacher of the Year. Dr. César Morales, VC Superintendent of Schools, presented the award to Cook this morning. Cook is a 16-year teaching veteran who currently serves as a Learning, Instruction, & Technology (LIT) Coach. Prior to that, he was Chair of the Scorpions music department. Cook is now eligible to compete for a chance at becoming the California Teacher of the Year. 🙌🍎
