She was sad the Saturday before last because I didn’t have my special chocolate covered Oreo. But this past week I made them specially for her! She was SO HAPPY that she took 2! Look at that smile!

From Brazil to You!
My name is Mery Ellen and I moved to the US in 2016 when I married the love of my life!
I grew up on a small island in Espirito Santo, Brazil and am the only girl and the youngest of three children. My name came from the old American show, “The Waltons.” My mother (who is in heaven now) was watching in Portuguese one day and said, “If I ever have a daughter, I will name her Mery Ellen!” Now, I live in Kentucky :)
My passion for baking and creativity came through my sweet mother! She was always incredibly creative when she would make birthday parties for us and others. She would create themes, bake cakes, make decorations and more than anything, make those moments special and memorable. While my mother imparted her creativity, my father gave me an example of diligence, integrity and work ethic. I feel that I have carried that same attitude of hard work, love and joy into our business as we make moments unforgettable with our cakes and sweets.
Our name, Mrs. Sweet Strong, comes from a composition of words that represent my life, journey and name. Strong is my last name and a necessary characteristic needed to weather life’s ups and downs. Sweet comes from our signature Brazilian “sweets” and for bringing a light to those around us.
