🤔What are Good Samaritan Laws?
❤️In moments of crisis, every second counts, especially when it comes to cardiac emergencies such as Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Imagine you are enjoying a day shopping in the mall when you encounter someone suffering from SCA. Instinctively, you rush to their aid, performing CPR in a desperate attempt to save their life. Despite your efforts, the individual doesn’t survive. In the following moments you might ask yourself “Could I be held responsible for their death?”
🛡️Here’s where Good Samaritan Laws come into play. Across the United States, these laws are designed to protect bystanders who take up the role of rescuer from being sued or prosecuted for their well intentioned actions.

🏫The Crucial Role of AEDs in Athletic Programs at Schools🏃
When it comes to school athletics, the health and safety of student-athletes is critical. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death in young athletes, making it imperative for athletic trainers to be equipped with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)❤️. Here are a few reasons why:
⚡Immediate Response: SCA can affect people of all ages and fitness levels. AEDs can significantly increase survival rates when used promptly making them essential on the sidelines.
⚡User Friendly: AEDs are designed for simplicity, ensuring that even individuals without medical training can operate them effectively.
⚡Compliance and Legal Protection: Many states have legislation requiring AEDs at athletic events and practices. Equipping athletic trainers with AEDs ensures the institution's compliance and can provide legal protection in the event of a cardiac emergency.
⚡Critical Time Advantage: The first few minutes following SCA are crucial. Having an AED readily available can make the difference before professional help arrives.
⚡Promoting a Culture of Safety: The presence of AEDs at athletic events underscores an institution's commitment to the well-being of its student athletes.
By expanding access to AEDs and training in their use, schools and universities can significantly mitigate the risks associated with SCA in athletics. It is important to ensure that athletic trainers are well-prepared to tackle cardiac emergencies head-on.

Video How AEDs and CPR can save lives Dr. Alok Patel explains how CPR and AED's can help save lives during American Heart Month
🚨Did you know that all AEDs run periodic self-tests?🤔
All Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) conduct regular self-tests. The frequency of these tests varies from manufacturer, but generally occurs weekly. Some AEDs test both the pads and batteries🔄 while others check only the battery life.🔋
Alongside these accessory checks, the AED undergoes internal designated tests. Failure to pass any of these tests triggers frequent beeping alerts. Upon turning on the AED an audible prompt of the specific issues requiring attention. It's important to note that initiating the AED at any time will initiate a self-test which, while comprehensive, may contribute to battery depletion🔄🚑

💪New Year, New You!
❤️As many embark on their fitness journey to start the new year it is important to prioritize safety within gyms and health clubs with AEDs. In the United States, over 350,000 people experience Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) each year with many occurring within these facilities due to physical activity elevating the risk of cardiac issues in some people.
⚡That is why the presence of an AED in gyms can be pivotal in the event of SCA as they can be used to deliver a shock to the heart, aiding in the restoration of a normal heart rhythm and saving a life.
🗺️Several states even require AEDs to be present in gyms and health clubs

❄️How Can Cold Affect AEDs?
☃️The cold weather during winter can affect how Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) operate. Batteries can drain quickly, AED pads can freeze, and the unit could even stop working all together.
❤️To ensure your AED is rescue ready it should be stored in a controlled environment and protected from extreme temperatures. AED Manufacturers recommend storing AEDs at a temperature of 32-122°F to ensure your unit stays properly functioning should it be needed.

When shopping for an AED unit you may see an IP rating in the description but what does an IP rating mean?🤔
IP Rating, short for Ingress Protection Rating, is a worldwide standard of showing how durable electrical equipment such as AEDs are to exposure of dust, liquid, and physical contact. The first number in the rating shows how resistant an AED is to physical contact and the second digit signifies the level of water protection.
Whether you are placing your unit in a harsh environment or in a protective wall-mounted case, it is important to find an AED with the right IP rating. Find the right AED for you at https://bit.ly/46wcOE5
🎄Wishing you a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year from AED Professionals. We extend our warmest wishes to all of our valued customers and partners for a joyous holiday season.
❤️As the year comes to a close, we want to express our gratitude for your continued support and we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve you. May your festivities be filled with warmth, joy, and prosperity
❤️The most important factors when attempting to save someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is providing high-quality CPR and using an AED. SCA can occur at any time and affect people of all ages and not all facilities are able to have trained staff when it comes to using an AED.
⚡Having an AED that offers CPR feedback would be the best solution. Some AEDs offer this feature that provides visual and audible feedback on chest compression depth and/or speed. This feature is critical for facilities that may have untrained staff as adequate chest compressions could save a life when providing CPR.
