The City of Palestine Compost Site will open today July 9, 2024, from 7:30 AM- 3:30 PM for storm debris cleanup. City residents must provide a copy of a current City of Palestine utility bill and ID.

The Compost Site is located at 1625 W. Spring St. in Palestine. The Compost Site's standard operating hours are Wednesday and Saturday from 7:30 AM- 3:30 PM.

The City of Palestine to Spray for Mosquitos
PALESTINE, Texas – The City of Palestine begins its summer mosquito spraying on Monday, June 17, 2024, for Areas 1, 2, and 3. Mosquito spraying will continue Thursday, June 20, 2024, for Areas 4, 5, and 6. Spraying will start at 9 p.m. on both dates and will continue until 5 a.m.

The City of Palestine contracts its mosquito spraying to Vector Disease Control International.
Residents can make mosquito complaints to the City of Palestine Development Services Department, Environmental Services Division, at 903-731-8435.

The City of Palestine has a City Compost site. Leaves, branches, and other yard waste can be dumped on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:30 to 3:30. The Compost site is located at 1625 W Spring St, Palestine, TX 75803. The phone number is 903-731-8423 and can be found on the city website.

Storm made a mess, no time for clean up? No need to stress...just ring me up! 👍

This huge yard, filled with numerous trees, required a full day of preparation to mow and w**d eat. Hopefully you can see in the last photo, the difference it made.

✅️ Raked leaves, fallen limbs, and about a billion sweet gum balls to uncover a choked-out lawn
✅️ Cleaned up all tree trunks, including poison ivy/oak removal
✅️ Hauled 3 full trailer loads to the burn pile
✅️ W**d eated and mowed
✅️ Stood back and enjoyed the view 😁

Not just a yard guy! Check out the pool deck transformation from this past week:

✅️ Removed rotted hand rail
✅️ Built and painted new hand rail
✅️ Stripped and sanded wood deck
✅️ 2 fresh coats of paint on wood and concrete deck

Result: A beautiful, bright, refreshing place to relax this summer!

🚨🌿 Attention Palestine Residents! 🌿🚨

📢 We want to remind everyone about City Ordinance Section #46-52 regarding property maintenance, specifically the upkeep of your grass and w**ds.

🌱 It's essential that property owners, occupants, or those in control of any property within the city keep their grass and w**ds trimmed to a height of less than 12 inches up to the curb or roadway.

🚜 Exceptions apply to pastureland properties of at least one acre with an agricultural designation by the county appraisal district. These properties must still be maintained consistent with their agricultural use.

🛑 Also, please ensure that intersections are cleared at least five feet from the curb and at least five feet from the street where no curbs exist.

📋 This ordinance is in place to maintain the aesthetics, safety, and cleanliness of our city. Let's all do our part to keep Palestine beautiful and well-maintained!
