‘Do this movement and it will fix your Kidneys’, ‘follow me through this exercise which will nourish your Liver’.
It would be nice if it worked this way but sadly, this is rarely the case. Whilst any relaxed and open, stretching movement may have benefit for the body, to really get Qigong to work to any great level, you require Qi. When we start out, we have a relatively low level of Qi, it is far from being enough to capitalize on the majority of Qigong exercises. You can think of Qi as being like the interface between what you do and the inner effects in the case of medical-type Qigong exercises. Without the Qi, the movements we do with our body will not translate well into direct changes to our inner condition.
This is why any Qigong class or system, to me, may consist of various moving practices and medical exercises but they should always be secondary to extensive Qi gathering, building and developing methods.

400 Americans are dying each day. We cannot accept this reality. We are losing ~400 Americans a day. In the last 7 days, we have lost 2,299 people. During August 2022 alone, we lost 15,284 Americans to COVID-19. This means COVID-19 remains the third leading cause of death in our repertoire of threats. And it’s largely preventable. In the U.S., death rates are n...
Considerations for your fall booster This fall, everyone should get a bivalent COVID-19 booster. And, really, that’s all you need to know: Get a vaccine. Any bivalent vaccine. This fall. But, yes, we can use scientific data to optimize timing and, thus, protection. How long after infection/last vaccine should you booster?

This article beautifully describes how heart and brain health are interconnected. Your brain requires a strong blood oxygen supply to function at full capacity. This is exactly why we believe exercise is an essential component of any brain-health plan. https://www.cnet.com/health/the-heart-brain-connection-how-your-heart-health-affects-your-brain-and-vice-versa/
State of Affairs: April 19 Last week, the WHO confirmed that we are, in fact, still in a pandemic. The Emergency Committee met recently and unanimously concluded it’s too soon to declare the emergency over. While we need the right amount of protein for our age and activity level (ranging from a minimum .8 grams/kg to ⅙ grams/kg or more for certain athletes).
The easiest way to measure this is by eating a palm-sized piece of protein (either grass-fed meats, poultry, eggs, or fish) twice a day. This rule works whether you are a 6’10” basketball player or a five-year-old.
If you don’t know where to find quality meat. There are a few great options out there. One would be to participate in a cow share from a regenerative farm, or you can find some ways to find affordable options at local grocery stores.
And some of my favorite online sources for quality affordable meat are:

Can olive oil reduce your risk of mortality?
There’s no doubt that olive oil can play a key role in a healthy diet. It deserves a spot in any diet just for its ability to decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease! But what about how it relates to other causes of mortality?
A recent study from Harvard looked at 100,000 participants over a 28-year period. These participants were free of cardiovascular disease and cancer at the beginning of the study and they were asked to complete a food frequency questionnaire every four years. It’s basically a tool where the participants recount the types and frequency of the food they’ve eaten as best they can.
At the end of the 28-year follow-up period, nearly 37,000 of the participants had passed away. According to the data collected, the participants that consumed the most olive oil had a 29% decreased risk of dying from neurodegenerative diseases!
In this article, learn more about the study and the data they’d collected.

Children and young adults who spend at least 30 minutes outdoors daily are less likely to develop multiple sclerosis, with 1-2 hours providing the most benefit. This makes sense since risk factors for MS include low sun exposure, low ultraviolet radiation exposure, and low vitamin D status. Still, it is notable to see these results in children, adolescents, and young adults. The takeaway for all: spend time outdoors if you can. https://wb.md/3sXgluH
