Bianca rallies to salvage joint fourth in Paris Olympics

Bianca Pagdanganan rallied with three birdies in the last five holes to close with a four-under-par 68 in the Paris Olympics in France on Saturday.
Using her prodigous length off the tee, the 26-year-old Filipina reached the par-5 14th and 18th in two and drained a 14-foot birdie putt on 17.
She finished her second Olympic stint on 6-under, just one shot shy of forging a playoff for the bronze.
Pagdanganan settled for joint fourth place.
Lydia Ko of New Zealand won the gold on 10-under, two shots ahead of Germany's Esther Henseleit.
The bronze went to China's Lin Xiyu who totaled 7-under.
It was a remarkable performance from Pagdanganan who waged a determined battle to clinch a medal.
On the 15th hole, Pagdanganan narrowly missed a 10-foot birdie putt.
After a solid start of four birdies against a lone bogey in the first nine, Bianca Pagdanganan stumbled with two bogeys off penalties on the 10th and 13th holes.
Earlier, a well-struck tee shot to within three feet on the par-3 eighth hole led to her fourth birdie against a lone bogey in the front nine.

We are excited to share that Monique “Mo” Gesualdi, PGA and LPGA Director of Instruction at St. Johns Golf & Country Club in St. Augustine, Florida, has been named “2024 Troon Coach of the Year” by Troon’s Education and Player Development team. Gesualdi oversees the golf instruction program at The Golf Academy at St. Johns while coaching juniors, women and men to reach their highest potential by getting their mind, body and swing all working together.

This is an indication of the depth of quality and caring teaching professionals at Troon-managed facilities,” said Troon Global Director of Education and Coaching, Tim Mahoney. “Monique exemplifies the characteristics of the elite coach: humility, motivator, caring, listener and relationship builder. Gesualdi has been Director of Instruction at St. Johns Golf & Country Club since May of 2021 and was the 2023 recipient of the North Florida PGA Youth Player Development Award. In her teaching, “Coach Mo” takes a holistic coaching approach, focusing on understanding each player’s individual swing tendencies, physical condition, mental approach, nutritional habits, and other factors. This approach aims to optimize performance by addressing all aspects of a player’s development. Gesualdi believes in ensuring cohesion among the developmental team, parents, and the player is essential for the player’s success. This unified approach plays a pivotal role in achieving goals and maximizing potential.

Bang Bang Salmon

Ingredients :

Salmon Bites:
1 ½ pounds salmon fillets skin removed, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat
Bang Bang Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon sriracha sauce adjust to taste
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions :

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, honey, and lime juice until well combined. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the salmon bites, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Toss until the salmon bites are evenly coated with the seasonings.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
Place the salmon bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook them in batches. Air fry the salmon bites for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the salmon is cooked through and crispy on the edges.
Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a serving platter and drizzle with the Bang Bang sauce. Serve the remaining sauce on the side for dipping.
