Shotokan Karate-Do Association in Southern California
SKA So-Cal is a shotokan-based karate school located at the Demuth Community at 3601 E. Mesquite Ave. in Palm Springs. Sensei Steve Beck is the chief instructor.
Call 760-449-7223 for more information. We offer classes for adults and children. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday at 5:30-6:30 for kids and 6:45-7:45 for adults. Tuesday night is advanced only; otherwise, anyone is invited to train. In Palm Desert, summer hours are 6 to 7 p.m. for beginners and 7 to 8 for intermediate and advanced.

We had fun at the Te-Kenjustu-Kan tournament benefitting Wise Place Women's Shelter. It's always a great tournament with a fun, welcoming spirit. And we are very, very proud of two of our yellow belts, Stacey and Jennifer, who competed for the first time EVER and did a fantastic job!

We had a great time at our black belt dinner last night. Congratulations to new Ni Dans Tom, Kristen and Dante, and new Sho Dans Ludwig, Nancy, Andre, Duncan and Soshi. And thanks Billy Reed's restaurant for putting up with us!!

We had a great time at the Seidan Kai tournament on May 27. We brought over 20 competitors and took home our share of medals. Mostly it was great to compete with our friends at Seidan Kai!

Thank you to Cielo Vista Charter for letting our karate school do a demo at their fall festival. It was a ton of fun!
Our hearts are broken over the deaths of the two police officers, especially Gil Vega whose daughter is one of our students. Words cannot adequately express our sorrow - please pray for the officers and their families.
