Obituaries in Palm Springs, CA | The Desert Sun
Roy Caffarel was born January 6, 1932 in Port Allen, Louisiana. He graduated from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge in 1950. After attending LSU for a year he moved to New Orleans where he was employed by Delta Airlines until enlisting in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his service he decided to relocate to Southern California, where he became a real estate agent and met his partner Bob with whom he began a 45 year relationship. Eventually they moved to the Seattle area, operating a small business, before settling for several years in Lakeport, California, also, running their own business. After retiring they spent seven adventurous years on the road in their RV travelling around the country before their final move to Palm Springs in 2002. With Bob's passing Roy entered into an 18 year relationship with new partner Michael. They were active members in Front Runners and Boots In Squares with Roy returning to work for Palm Springs Follies for a number of years and then becoming a health care worker until illness forced him to retire once again. He passed away at home on December 28, just short of his 91st birthday. With his unique personality and sense of style, he will be sorely missed by friends and family.

Week 2 of the Mainstream Continuation into Plus program, 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Must have completed SSD beginners. Teaching/reviewing both Mainstream and occasional Plus calls! Destination is Plus.

Boots in Squares Social Square Dance Winter Class starts on Monday, January 9, 2023. First class is free. The first three Mondays are open enrollment nights. After your free class the cost of each class is $6.00. Come on out and give a try, you may even like it, We welcome everyone. You don't need a partner, special clothing just comfortable shoes and hopefully know your right hand from your left.

Why not give the gift of square dancing this year. If you’re bored because you’ve been sitting at home for the last 3 years? Put on a little weight huh? Well starting Monday, January 9, 2023 you can start to recover from boredom and maybe drop some of that Covid weight. Join the Winter SSD Square Dance Class or better yet, gift it to a friend, your partner, husband, wife or that special friend.
