Team Sandoval Combat Sports
Providing world class instruction in Muay Thai, Mexican Style Boxing and MMA Striking. Producing elite strikers and champions since 2006.
Providing world class combat sports instruction to the Antelope Valley.
Caleb Tenpas , on the path to mastery as a martial artist.
He's put in over 7 years learning our style of striking.
Came a long way, from a grappler and Jiu Jitsu specialist with limited striking, to now a well rounded professional fighter with high level striking.
Congrats on the Sandoval Combat Sports Brown belt Caleb! Well earned and so close to your black belt. Keep putting that work in refining your technique.
2023 was a great year for the team. Lots of solid work in training and the chance for the fighters to display the results in competition in CA and out of state. Some milestones made as well:
Caleb Tenpas crossed into the pro ranks after a lengthy and successful amateur career. Gabriel Colindres fought in his first out of state tournament and also ended the year picking up his first TKO win here in CA. Jordan Harris made his successful return to the MMA cage picking up a first round stoppage against another top prospect.
Proud of the fighters and equally proud and grateful for the team mates that helped them prepare for their fights or showed up to support at the events.
We will continue to put in the work come 2024. Stay tuned!
Team Sandoval Pro fighter Jordan Harris making his return to the LFA Cage December 15th in the fight capital , Las Vegas Nevada!
Tickets available and also will be live on UFC Fight Pass!

Solid Friday morning session to end the week. Fighters working counter attack drills and sparring. Hard workers only @ Team Sandoval.
The main focus of private lessons; especially with beginners shouldn't just be about volume, speed or power. It must be a balance between instruction, constant correction and letting them get in the reps to make those adjustments and improvements. Power and speed should be focused on once the technique is clean and proficient.
Excellent work this past weekend with . Hard working eighth grade kid who pays for his own training sessions by having a part time job .
Team Sandoval amateur fighter Gabriel Colindres competed in two fights last weekend in both Boxing and Muay Thai. Displayed great technique and gained valuable experience in both styles over the 6 rounds.
A true martial artist, looking forward to taking him to the next competitions as he only continues to improve!
Lots of people say they want to be fighters.
Very very few actually show up and put in the time and work needed. Between training sessions, sparring, and early morning hill sprints or runs the real fighters filter through.
If it was easy everyone would do it.
For those that enjoy pushing and testing themselves there's no other sport that comes close to combat sports training or competition.
Been coaching for over 15 years now & I've had some great students that I've been glad to have had a positive impact on. A few that I wasn't able to influence enough to keep them going in a positive direction and even a few still that just taught me hard lessons about humanity in general and how not everyone can be trusted or show appreciation for the sacrifices we make as coaches.
Back at my old Littlerock,CA gym (Eastside MMA) I for sure had a lot of great students that made coaching worthwhile by the appreciation they've shown years later.
Glad to hear my old student and friend is doing well in life, now with a family and career. He overcame a lot of adversity and has made the right choices to improve his life and I was glad to play a part as a coach and gym owner. To hear someone say the gym saved their life means a lot and I know it's true because martial arts definitely has saved many lives and improved them including my own by keeping me out of trouble as a youth and giving me something to focus on when I could've gone down the wrong path.
Grateful for the coaches and instructors I had and glad to pay it forward..
Huge thanks to coach & .kmt for the hospitality in having my team over for some rounds of sparring this past Saturday morning! Great to get some quality work here in Palmdale. Much appreciated !
100% truth right here.
Real coaches tell it like it is and keep the fighter accountable. "Pad holders, friends, and training partners" rarely even try and when they do they get usually get ignored by a fighter who's ego may have gotten to them.
To be successful in the long term, it's a team effort with a student/fighter who listens to an actual coach who has their best interest in mind, and that usually involves consistent hard work, sacrifice, dedication, accountability and humbleness.
Glad to have hard working students and fighters back in the gym. Morning class been nothing but solid work of technique and sparring.
Looking forward to taking them back out to compete soon in Muay Thai , Boxing or MMA .

Been a year, but still strong on the Thai pads!
Knowing how to flow & work in light sparring, without ego or going harder then you need too takes humble martial artists.
Being able to show up on fight day & perform with clean technique at full speed and power takes some fighters years. A few such as these two were able to do both right away.
Technical sparring back at my old gym with some natural born fighters. azizians
Throwback Thursday technique by Team Sandoval fighter .... Running back to back combos but in variation : 1, 2, head kick then 1, 2 body, body kick. Jumping kick at the end showing some creativity in seeing the opening during a pause in action. Always proud of the hard chargers such as this kid that have repped the gym to the fullest in the ring or cage.
Looking forward to the return of fights here in CA!

Flash back Friday to two Team Sandoval originals putting in work together a few years back.
Most coaches (myself included) want to hold pads for every every student, every session but sometimes it's impossible.
These are the type of individuals that a coach looks forward to training : Teammates and fighters that are willing to both hit and hold pads for each other. Iron sharpens Iron.
Congrats to Team Sandoval pro fighter Jordan Harris for taking first place in his division at the 16th Annual NABJJF tournament in Scottsdale Arizona this past weekend. He's spent the past year working on his grappling game and the results are speaking for themselves. Looking forward to seeing the work and progress continue in MMA competition.
Shout out to team mate for making the trip out to AZ to help corner and support.
All sparring is good sparring. Some days light and some days closer to full power.
This is is how champions are made at Team Sandoval. Through consistent hard work & early mornings, honing a craft with other dedicated individuals.
Subtle differences between an elite level pro and elite level amateurs but it adds up.
