Massive thank you to captain William Wise, Captain Jake Wise and Caleb Wise with BadFish Charters. They came to my house and demo’d all the damaged areas. 1 phone call and they were here. I could not have done that all by myself. Once all this storm stuff clears up, please reach out to them if you want to catch some fish. They are excellent captains and even more excellent people. And they know how to catch some fish!!!

We are fully back to regular hours and we have had live bait the last couple days! We truly hope everyone affected by the storm is doing well and making progress.

For tomorrow Sunday 9/29 we may have live shrimp!! One of our shrimpers is planning to run out and see what they can find!! We will be open at 6am hopefully with live bait!

Just a quick update on Palmetto Bait and Tackle. The next week or so we will be trying to figure out what to do. Jen and I lost a couple vehicles and have major repairs coming up to our home from water intrusion. We are open today but there’s no live bait. I spoke to our shrimpers and they are dealing with these issues as well. This is gonna be a long journey for us all. Please be patient with us. I will try to update as much as possible. We are open today Saturday 9/28 until 2pm. Tomorrow Sunday 9/29 we will be open at 6am until probably 2pm. Our prayers go out to all of our customers that are dealing with the same or worse. We understand the pain and emotion!!

Due to flooding of our houses, myself and our employees cannot open the shop tomorrow. We do apologize but the shop will be closed until further notice. All of our vehicles are under water and so are our homes. We pray everyone is safe in this storm.

Storm update.
Palmetto Bait and Tackle will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 9/26, due to the storm. No bait boats are going out and it may be kind of breezy to fish. We will reopen Friday 9/27 at 6am! Stay safe everyone!!

Jen and I finally got out on the water today. Had to wait out the storms in the morning but were able to make the best of the day. Fish were on fire all day today must have caught 100+ fish but Only kept 3 hog fish, 3 yellow tail, 1 mang and 1 porgee. Just enough for a couple dinners and fresh hog fish tacos tonight!! Only used live shrimp on light tackle all day. Come down to Palmetto Bait and Tackle and get what ya need to get on the water. Might have some nasty weather next week so take advantage of this weekend and get out and fish!!

Had a nice day targeting hog fish Sunday 8/18/24. All caught using a 1oz Stewie jig in Palmetto Penny color. Used both live and dead shrimp. We threw back 9 or 10 short hog fish too.

Quick update to the cast net post. I wanted to show our full line of nets and let everyone know what sizes we do carry. We carry
8’ 1/4” mesh in 1lb, 1.1lb, 1.25lb and 1.5lb per foot
8’ 3/8” mesh in 1lb, 1.25lb and 1.5lb per foot
10’ 1/4” mesh in 1lb, 1.25lb anf 1.5lb per foot
10’ 3/8” mesh in 1lb, 1.1lb, 1.25lb and 1.5lb per foot
12’ 3/8” mesh in 1.5lb per foot
8’ mullet net 1.25” mesh
10’ mullet net 1.25” mesh
Also carry small nets. All are 3/8” mesh and 3/4lb per foot and those come in 4’, 5’, 6’, 7’ and 8’. We have 5 different brands to choose from, come by and check them out if you’re in the market for a cast net!!

Update for Tuesday 8/5/24. We went ahead and closed at 9am. Fingers crossed we will be able to get live bait tonight for tomorrow. We will be open tomorrow Tuesday 8/6 at 6am.

Just a few updates. We are gonna go ahead and close today (Sunday August 4) at 2pm. Also none of our live bait suppliers are going out tonight so we will only have frozen bait tomorrow (Monday August 5). But I will be open at 6am tomorrow and let the weather and business dictate what time we will close. Hopefully back to normal by Tuesday with live bait and regular hours!! Pre-front fishing at its best!! When I see this that means we fish before it gets here!! Friday and Saturday looking just fine to fish. Sunday will be a great day to come restock on your tackle!! Good morning everyone. Someone left a set of keys at the shop last week. The key FOB is to a GMC, it also has a name brand key chain that will need to be identified to pick up the keys.
