Our Story
The Teen Arts Council is an initiative of the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre, and was founded in 2009 with the intent to promote the importance of the arts in the community, and to provide an outlet for teenage artists. We are a group of high school students from the area who meet every Wednesday to program events that correspond with our purpose.
So far, we have created several successful events. In the spring of 2010, we received a grant from the NEA to produce Fahrenheit 451 on stage as on of 50 total literacy-oriented events we produced with the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre. In the spring of 2011, we provided teen bands in the community a place to perform at Ruckus!. In 2015, we were able to put on a full production of a play named Ghost Bike. In 2016, with other organizations, we managed to put on a fun summer event called Buoyancy, which involved carnival rides, an art sale, food trucks, and live music. Other events we have coordinated and participated in include Open Mic Night (for high school students), two middle school dances, poetry slams (Point B Poetry Jam) and the Playhouse series at the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre.
In coming years, we hope to take our abilities and accomplishments to a whole new level. Our current budget, however, will only get us so far. We would appreciate donations from people and organizations interested in sponsoring the Teen Arts Council.
Our Leadership 2018-2019 Executive Board:

Publicity and Outreach Coordinators: Roni Manor and Cameron Miller
