At Bowman, Montessori principles empower our students to become the next generation of compassionate leaders. Inspired by our local transit, one of our students sewed a pillow of the BART lines and was delighted to receive a box of BART swag in exchange for a photo of his work. A huge thanks to Bay Area Rapid Transit for recognizing and encouraging young talents!
Spin art fun! Our Lower Elementary students recently dabbled in spin art, creating colorful and beautiful works of art. We love seeing their creativity in action!
Our Secondary Level curriculum is designed to foster growth and independence for students aged 12-18. Embracing the Montessori philosophy, our students collaborate in mixed-aged groups, benefiting from a rich blend of on- and off-campus learning experiences that bring education to life. These diverse experiences help them learn in context and prepare them for the future. From local excursions to student-planned international trips, our students are well-prepared for the world.

At Bowman, our woodshop program ignites confidence and creativity in students. With saws, drills, and creativity in hand, they delve into the world of woodworking, crafting functional and artistic pieces. Through hands-on exploration, our students build not just projects but also essential problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Our Bowman students embody the true spirit of compassion and care. Whether it's helping a friend or contributing to the community, they always lead with their hearts. Their actions help make Bowman a place where everyone feels valued and supported.

We are so proud of our Lower Elementary students for their amazing Science Fair presentations! They practiced hard and presented their projects to the entire school, enhancing their understanding and building their confidence in public speaking. Well done, future scientists!
Our Secondary Level design class had an egg-straordinary day with their egg drop project! From parachutes to hot glue, students showcased their egg-cellent engineering designs to keep their eggs from cracking after a second-story fall. Do you think their eggs survived the scramble?
At Bowman, our practical life curriculum brings real-world activities into the classroom. Recently, we introduced flower arranging, and it's been a hit! Each week, our student botanists get to cut flower stems, arrange them in vases, add water, and place them around the room. At the end of the week, they collect the vases, pour out the water, and compost the flowers. This practical life activity helps to instill concentration, multi-step processes, and a sense of community contribution!
During Advancement Week, our thoughtful 7th grade students put together a beautiful breakfast buffet/lunch with drinks and desserts for our 8th graders. This special meal, enjoyed by all Secondary Level students and teachers, was a wonderful way to honor the advancing class and to celebrate the sense of community at Bowman.
The Athletic Banquet was more than just a celebration of achievements; it was a testament to the spirit of unity, camaraderie, and support that permeates our school. We applauded our student-athletes for their accomplishments and recognized the dedication of their coaches. These shared experiences reinforce the bonds that connect us and make Bowman feel like family.🐝🏆🤎
A big thank you to our Advancing Class of 2024 for their incredible contributions on Service Day! They breathed new life into the garden beds at Bowman East and made a stylish new parking sign for our Head of School. Your hard work does not go unnoticed!
We are so proud of our students' creativity showcased at our annual Art & Music Festival! The event featured beautiful art and captivating music from students of all grades. Advancement Day was a joyful celebration of our students' achievements! We honored the milestones of moving from Children's House to Lower Elementary, Lower Elementary to Upper Elementary, Upper Elementary to the Lower Secondary Level, and Lower Secondary Level to High School. Our 8th grade students’ heartfelt speeches and the thoughtful gestures from their Buddies added a special touch. Thank you to all who made this day unforgettable! This year’s Spring Fling was a Disney dream come true! Our 8th grade students and the graduating class of ‘23 had a blast with shaved ice, co****le, a photo booth, and lots of dancing. It’s always wonderful to see our Bowman family reconnect and make new memories together!
Our amazing 8th grade students have been hard at work on their Community Projects! Through self-directed inquiry, they’ve tackled community needs based on their interests, planned and documented their progress, and demonstrated service as action. Their presentations highlighted their skills, attitudes, and knowledge, as well as their ability to communicate effectively. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the pride they take in their learning!

Venturing into the wilderness with Nature's Classroom Institute & Montessori School! Our Lower Elementary students had an action-packed time exploring the woods, building dams, and getting hands-on with nature. From learning about compasses to discovering the musical sounds of the forest, each moment was filled with excitement and learning. Thank you NCI for the truly memorable trip into the great outdoors!
The Bowman community came together to celebrate our diverse cultural heritage at our annual International Fair! This year, our students have been studying Africa and Asia, and we're thrilled to have parents and community members share their knowledge and experiences through food, music, dance, and games. A big thank you to the Marine Science Institute for an incredible visit with our Children's House students! They had a blast getting up close and personal with various crab species, crafting their own hermit crabs, and diving into the fascinating world of marine life. We're grateful for MSI's commitment to hands-on learning and sparking curiosity in young minds!
