The City of Ventura and the River Community Church will still be activating the Foul Weather Shelter Program tomorrow, January 31, 2024, in preparation for inclement weather of more than an ½ inch of rain. The Housing Services Division will be reserving a limited number of motel rooms at a local motel where individuals 65+ and/or with chronic health/medical conditions will be prioritized. For the individuals who are not provided with a room, we will be providing them with “stay warm” packs.
The individuals desiring shelter should arrive at the River Community Church located at 859 E. Santa Clara St., Ventura, CA 93001 tomorrow no earlier than 5:00pm and no later than 6:00pm. The staff members provided by the City and County of Ventura will conduct the initial intake and screening of individuals. Once the intake process has been completed, volunteers will welcome individuals and guide them to the waiting area for transportation to their room or provide them with a “stay warm” pack.

Good afternoon,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Alejandra Belalcazar, nice to e-meet you 😊 I'm reaching out in hopes that you could lend us your support. The City of Ventura housing services team is conducting two surveys:
• Community Survey - Navigating Homelessness in Ventura - A Community Engagement Survey.
• Business Survey - Business Engagement Survey on Navigating Homelessness in Ventura
• More information can be found here: www.CityofVentura.ca.gov/HousingServices
These two surveys intend to gather essential data to better address and understand homelessness in our community. The survey will remain open until January 19, 2024, and we would like to reach as many individuals and businesses as possible to ensure a comprehensive and insightful outcome. Understanding your organization's invaluable role in our community, your involvement could significantly impact the survey's success. Would you be able to include a blurb on your newsletter, internal communication channels or share on social media? If so, please see attached our flyer (English and Spanish) and newsletter image, along with a blurb. We are also able to come by and drop off some flyers.
Your support in sharing this survey with your members through your organization's communication channels would be immensely appreciated. If you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to reach out to the group cc’d.
Thank you for considering our request!
Alejandra
