Day 2

In the spring of 2021 I saw a now infamous reel of flipping a huge rainbow hexagon panel and it was love at first sight… I knew I had to learn how to make stained glass! 🤍

After a few months of research and reading everything I could… I found online class that came with basic supplies… so I dove in head first in September 2021 and never looked back. The picture ⬆️ is the first project I made 🤍

DAY 1

An introduction for all the new people

My name is Kristen and I have been cutting myself with
stained glass for the last year 🤪

1- I'm an enneagram type 5 aka "The Investigator" 🧐

2- My travel bucket list includes Machu Picchu, Australia, Iceland and every old castle on the British Isles 🏰

3- can't get enough of the 80's movies

4- usually listening to alternative rock or a true crime podcast 🎧

5- I have twin daughters that turned 12 in December 🥰 we named them after characters from LOST which was our favorite tv show when my husband
and I started dating.

6- 🦦otters are my favorite animal

7- breakfast is my favorite meal at a restaurant

8- I'd rather be in the mountains than on a beach 🏔

9- I 🤍 color and before stained glass my favorite pastime was coloring with markers or colored pencils 🌈

10- my favorite part of making stained glass is the satisfying step after cutting and grinding when all the pieces get washed and then put together like a puzzle 🤩

Timeline 1 - 2 business days
Once your order goes through I will polish your piece and make sure there is nothing that needs to be repaired. Then I will pack it up with care and take it to the post office for shipping.

Custom order:
Timeline 1 - 3 weeks
The first step is to decide the pattern and the glass that I will use. I will send you pictures of the glass I'm thinking would work best and once you're happy with the result I get to work. After the work is finished I will then post a custom order listing on my website and send you a link to purchase. Once you've paid I will package up your order with the upmost care to make sure it arrives to you in one piece and get it to the post office.

I was so upset when I cracked the glass on the head of this chicken!! Instead beating myself up I decided to learn how to correct the mistake... I was able to watch a few wonderful videos on how to fix broken or cracked glass and then I went to work. The end result was a perfect chicken ready to go to her new home!

Next time you make a mistake, instead of going down into a rabbit hole, think about what you'd change next time and SNAP OUT OF IT!!!

Did you know that butterfly wings are transparent? 🤔 That seems to only make them more fragile in my mind 🧚🏼

The wings of a butterfly are covered in a multitude of miniature scales –thousands of them. And those colors you see when a butterfly flits across your yard are the reflection of various colors through the scales. The wings themselves are made up of a protein called chitin, which is the same protein that forms an insect’s exoskeleton. And much like an exoskeleton, chitin is transparent.
