Students can send tips regarding bullying, fights, or other safety hazards by texting a secure number. All messages are reviewed by school safety personnel and school administrators. Join the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) on Saturday, September 28 at the Paramount Sheriffโ€™s Station (15001 Paramount Blvd) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m for a hands-on training session focused on essential emergency skills like Disaster Preparation, Medical Aid, Fire Safety and Search & Rescue.

Participants will receive lunch, a CERT certificate, and essential disaster prep equipment.

There will be no street sweeping or makeup sweep for Labor Day. Trash pick-up will be delayed by one day: Monday pick-up will be on Tuesday, Tuesday on Wednesday, and so on.

! On August 6, the Youth Activities League (YAL) had the opportunity to spend the afternoon at Spane Park celebrating National Night Out with LASD and Public Safety staff.

The youth were taught the importance of community-building and establishing neighborhood-police partnerships as part of a healthy community support system. They had a blast engaging with SAO Deputy Rodriguez and Deputy Dare and exploring the inner workings of a patrol vehicle and traffic unit motorcycle.
