Philosophy/Values:

Campmor is a local, family-owned business that’s been in operation for forty+ years. Our passion for the outdoors is represented by a knowledgeable staff who have first-hand experience of the latest gear to better inform customers on the importance of preparedness in and out of the backcountry. We also partner with local, non-profit hiking and environmental organizations to better promote trail stewardship and the outdoor experience. Strategically positioned at the gateway of renowned outdoor opportunities, such as Harriman State Park, and the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains, Campmor can help make your adventure a memorable one.

Objectives:

Campmor has been outfitting generations of hikers and campers. While technology and the way folks shop has changed our core values have remained. We are pressing forward to appeal to a new generation of outdoor communities and still hold true to the values that first brought outdoor enthusiasts to us since 1978. Having great gear used to be all a good outfitter needed but in this current climate the experience of the outdoors is just as valuable. We intend to expand our awareness and positioning to not only continue to sell great gear but to make the outdoors accessible to those who have interests beyond solely camping and hiking. The weekend warriors, the SUP yoga crowd, the wanderlust crew, the impulsive hop in the car and drive north folks, these represent the next phase of outdoor customers we intend to target. They are the folks that not necessarily qualify as gear heads but love the journey and adventure just as much as the hardcore outdoor community and have the need for knowledge and gear just as much as our traditional base.
