Crockett Intermediate, Aikin Elementary, Justiss Elementary, and T. G. Givens Early Childhood Center participated in "Start with Hello" week along with hundreds of schools and youth organizations across the United States. This program, founded by the Sandy Hook Promise, teaches students to be more socially inclusive and connected to each other. Students were taught the importance of inclusion of all students through presentations, guidance lessons, assemblies, special events, and campus-wide initiatives that reinforce the prevention of social isolation and loneliness.

Paris Independent School District (ISD) recently hosted an exciting soft opening event to introduce its new Parent Center. This initiative aims to bring together local agencies and Paris ISD parents in a collaborative environment, offering a wealth of resources and support.
The Parent Center is a dedicated space designed to be a welcoming and supportive environment where parents can access a variety of services, information, and assistance. Our mission is to empower parents by providing them with the tools and resources they need to effectively navigate the educational landscape and enhance their family's well-being. We collaborate with local agencies to bring expertise and resources on a wide range of topics, from academic support and mental health services to extracurricular activities and community programs.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of our Aikin Wildcats, Judd Bryan, a fourth grader. He has been part of our Aikin family since kindergarten. His friends, teachers, staff and our entire Aikin family will miss him. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family. Counselors will be available for support for all students and staff.

Aikin Elementary is excited to support Habitat for Humanity in their efforts to help Marie Hill, a lead custodian at Aikin, obtain a new home. To support this cause, all of the staff members at Aikin Elementary have taken turns to provide lunch for the volunteers working on Marie’s home every Saturday.

They anticipate around 20 volunteers each Saturday, but Marion Hutchison, the director at Habitat for Humanity, keeps them updated on any changes to the schedule and the number of volunteers expected as each Saturday approaches.

By providing lunch, Aikin staff aims to show their appreciation for the volunteers' hard work and dedication. Together, they can make a significant impact in Marie Hill's life and contribute to the community's spirit of giving and support.
