Running on Sugar

Today, I will embark on the next major journey of my life: perusing my undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame. With this being said, all of Running on Sugar’s operations will be paused. I want to thank each and everyone of you who has made my dream of owning and operating my own home bakery a reality. And while I’m not sure that Running on Sugar will ever operate as it once did—for my future is quite uncertain at this point—I will be able to fulfill orders for Christmas when I am home on break. I’ll see you in December.

Summer is here and so are new subscription desserts for the month of June! The regular items consist of bright lemon blueberry cheesecakes and decadent buckeye pie. Or for the premium item, I’ve returned a fan favorite from last summer: goat cheese mousse cups with balsamic berry compote and crunchy almond crumble.

I will be able to fulfill requests for the month between June 19 and June 28th.

May is here! This month, subscription holders have more delicious options! First up is my (almost) famous banana pudding. Lightened pudding layered with slices of banana and vanilla wafers makes this dessert irresistible. Or, if you’re a lemon lover, you’re going to love the lemon pie, a spin on the classic key lime option, with a graham cracker crust. And finally, the premium option is Kentucky Derby inspired; toasted pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips make this pie a winner!

April is here, and so are new dessert options! The first two options are Easter inspired. The carrot cake cheesecakes are my family’s dessert of choice for the holiday, and the white chocolate mousse cups are inspired by the classic candy eggs. Lastly, in an effort to hang on to those tropical spring break vibes, I’ve included the mini upside down cakes.

If you’d like your dessert for Easter, orders must be placed by Wednesday. Easter desserts will be ready for pickup on Friday.

It’s the best time of the month! New desserts are here! First up, I’m offering the ultimate sweet and salty treats: the classic chocolate chip cookie made even richer with the addition of brown butter and salty bacon. Then, in celebration of spring break, the famed key lime pie. Finally, the premium item is inspired by St. Patrick’s Day (and partly by the shamrock shake): my classic mini cheesecakes with an Oreo crust, infused with mint flavor and loaded with chocolate chips.

This month, I’ve got desserts you’ll love! The premium item consists of mini mousse cakes, which are layered with an Oreo crust, chocolate mousse, and semi-sweet chocolate ganache. Oh, and they’re filled with a whole strawberry. For the other options, there’s the light, floral rosé cupcakes and the classic cut-outs. No matter what you choose, you’ll be sure to fall in love!❤️

New year, even more more dessert options from . This month, subscribers have the choice of light, fruity trifles (with a little less sugar for those sticking to their resolutions) or classic chocolate chip mini cheesecakes. Or for the premium item, I’m offering a 9in pan of southern style banana pudding—airy pudding layered with fresh bananas and vanilla wafers. No matter what you choose, you’re sure to bring in the new year on a sweet note.

It’s been another great year at Running on Sugar, and it’s due to you all—my amazing customers! Can’t wait to see where this year takes us!

🎶It’s the most wonderful time of the year🎶Tis the season and this month’s subscription offers are full of holiday cheer! The premium item is a buckeye pie. Although not technically a Christmas dessert, this rich, decadent option is a favorite for a reason 😉. Additionally, there are sugar cookie truffles, which are bite-sized portions of edible sugar cookie dough coated in white chocolate. (They’re my family’s favorite Christmas “cookie.”) And lastly, it wouldn’t be the holidays without chocolate and peppermint. So, I’m offering my tried and true chocolate cupcakes with a peppermint buttercream.

On this Veteran’s Day, I’d like to take a moment to express my gratitude for all of the men and women who’ve put their lives at stake for the good of our very nation. It’s truly an honor and a privilege to live in such an amazing county surrounded by such amazing people!

It’s November! You know what that means: family, friends, FOOD! For November’s options, I’ve decided to keep it classic with pumpkin and apple. The premium item is the pumpkin cheesecake—a rich, creamy cheesecake infused with pumpkin and spice. For the regular items, there is the pumpkin roll and mini apple pies. The pumpkin roll is my personal Thanksgiving favorite. My family makes it every year, and it wouldn’t be thanksgiving without it. But if you’re craving something apple, the mini apple pies are also sure to please!

Please note that the last day to pickup subscription orders before Thanksgiving will be Monday, November 21st.

It’s spooky season! 🎃👻💀Lucky for you, this October there’s no tricks, just treats at Running on Sugar. First up is this month’s premium item: sweet potato pie (a feature during its premiere at Unhitched Brewery in Louisville). Then, for the regular—but still scary good—options, there’s sugar cookies decorated for the season or delectable pumpkin whoopie pies. Whichever you choose will leave your trick or treat candy feeling a bit underwhelming—in the best way possible, of course.

It’s September—fall flavors are here, but it’s also my birthday month, so I’ve got a little bit of everything to choose from!

The premium item is the salted caramel apple cheesecake. For those who have tried it last year, we can all agree it’s darn delicious. For pumpkin spice lovers, I have mousse cups that capture the essence of fall. Finally, in honor of my 18th birthday 🎉🥳 I’ve got cupcakes featuring one of the best flavor combinations: chocolate and peanut butter. Subscription holders, let me know what you’d like. Everyone else, it’s never too late to join!

If you’re looking for something unique, try out the goat cheese mousse cups. They combine sweet and savory and crunchy and creamy in the best way possible.

Or, if you’re in the tropical mood (holding onto summer as long as I can😉) go with the tried and true key lime pie or try out the brand new premium item: a coconut cheesecake with a pineapple topping. Really, you can’t go wrong any way you choose.

It’s crazy to think that exactly one year from today I officially launched Running on Sugar on my own terms. After a year of craziness, baking remained a way to share a communal love with those around me. Now, a year later, the mission remains the same: To make everyone’s life sweeter by providing the best quality desserts at an affordable price. Here’s to another awesome year!

I’ve been a little MIA recently, but now that my school year is coming to a close🎉 and summer is upon us, I have some exciting new ideas for the future of Running on Sugar! Among these is the introduction of my new subscription service—the easiest way for you all to consistently get quality desserts at an even better price than ordering. The details, as well as an updated menu (there have been some slight changes in price due to the increasing costs of ingredients), are illustrated in the attached photos.
