. Handmade items always tend to catch the eye and beg a few questions. And with the "Modern/Rustic" style becoming so popular, my preferred rustic/distressed style couldn't be more appropriate! From early on I was interested in the character of wood. The grain and the imperfections. But I never really got my start in woodworking until I saw a picture of one of those wine racks made from a pallet and thought "I could make a cooler one than that". And being a former roofer I was already adept at measuring and running saws proficiently. So they came out great, sold them to friends that loved them, and I had fun doing it! Then I moved out, got my own place and wasn't about to go buy some particle board crap that will just fall apart. So just about everything you see here I have already made for myself or my friends and family because not only do these items look great (Everybody loves the distressed look) but they're all very functional as well!
