Josh Tonkin Racing

Been a long time since I’ve been on here to say the least. 2020 was my last year in a modified, the year was up and down with good runs and finishes but there was also bad luck and getting caught up in wrecks. 2021 I put together a older blue gray rocket to mess around with and get the feel in a late model and I enjoyed it plus I was able to race with my younger brother Adam. Wayne Mcpeek took back over doing my engines and I and more than pleased! I had some really good runs and had a lot of fun. Over the off season I got a new Rocket XR1 and started assembling it. When race season finally came around I was more than ready to get behind the wheel of the new car. We have had good runs with some new car blues getting more comfortable with driving the car and knowing what adjustments to make and when. I’ve had a lot of great help along that way so that definitely has made things a lot better! Kelby Ables and Zach Milbee have been there to help alot jumping in doing whatever needs done offering advice, throwing ideas out there to try and see what works and we are definitely heading in the right direction!! My Step dad Keith has been coming along alot this year doing whatever to make things go even smoother. When Adam hasn’t been racing himself he’s been right there as well and I really appreciate it. This past week we went to Ohio valley speedway, qualified 5th and missed the dash by 1 spot but that put me on the pole of Heat 1. The outside pole sitter and myself ran one heck of a heat race and with 2 to go I was able to pass and clear him to go on and pick up my first career super late model heat race win!! That started me 5th in the feature and we was able to come home 3rd which had me very ecstatic, Saturday night we went to tyler county where we got wet and rain out unfortunately. This coming weekend plans are still up in the air but it’s looking like the valley Friday and play it by ear from there.
I’m going try and post more often on here so we shall see how that goes lol
