Labette Center is Officially Certified as a CCBHC!

Parsons, Kansas – Labette Center is excited to announce that it has been awarded the official Certification as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) in Kansas by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS). A CCBHC model of care system gives Labette Center the tools needed to support a range of mental health and substance use treatment services, provide expanded care and improve access to crisis services and coordinated care across the behavioral health system.

“Receiving full certification as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic is the culmination of a 3-year intensive process here at Labette Center,” stated Labette Center’s Executive Director, Matt Atteberry, LSCSW. “We began as a very good Community Mental Health Center. We have taken what we were very good at, improved that, and added to our existing array of services. Those additions included Assertive Community Treatment, Medically Assisted Treatment for opioid addictions, a full range of services to Service Members, Veterans and their family (SMVF), a robust Supported Employment program to assist individuals in achieving their employment and educational goals. increased crisis services, patient navigators, peer support specialists, and robust care coordination between our clinic and other providers, such as primary care. As a CCBHC we are required to show we adhere to evidence-based practices, track outcomes of those we serve, have a continues quality improvement process, have an advisory committee, and regularly seek input from the community. CCBHCs are recognized federally as the model for providing behavioral health care at the community level, and this full certification shows we have met the challenge in demonstrating we can provide this level of care. I could not be more proud of the Board and staff of Labette Center for putting in the work that has led to this achievement.”

A Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) is a specially designated clinic that provides a comprehensive range of mental health and substance use services. CCBHC's work to ensure access to integrated, evidence-based substance use disorder and mental health treatment services. Services included in the CCBHC model of care include immediate screening and risk assessment for mental health, addictions, and primary health care needs for chronic co-morbidities that drive poor health outcomes. CCBHC model of care increases access to care with criteria to assure a reduced wait time to access services and tailored care for active duty military and veterans to ensure they receive the unique health support essential to their treatment. This model expands care coordination with local primary care providers and a commitment to peers and families by recognizing that their involvement in care is a key part of an individual's path to recover.
