Local designers band together to form Los Angeles Design Weekend A "decentralized" group of designers and industry professionals have announced the founding of a furniture design-focused festival to take place in the neighbourhoods of eastern Los Angeles.

We can’t believe it’s already May, in part because we’re still catching our breath from April. Our trip to Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024 was a highlight—an opportunity to spend time with some of our favorite brands and L.A. designers and learn about what's coming down the kitchen and bath pike in 2024 and beyond.

Held in Milan each year in early Spring, Salone del Mobile was founded in 1961 to promote Italian exports of furnishing and accessories, and has become the most anticipated event in the world of furniture and design. 2024's focus on kitchen and bath brands and products drew a record-breaking 360,000 design-trade professionals and enthusiasts from around the globe—including us.

Our week kicked off at scenic Lago d'Ortà, spending time with friends Fantini and Gessi—both iconic Italian brands that know a thing or two about making guests feel special. Outside of the warm hospitality we received, we were thrilled to preview their impressive 2024 collections—look for more Fantini and Gessi updates from us in the future.

Our time in Italy went on to include our intimate garden cocktail party held at Milan’s chic Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, sending thanks to our co-hosts Gaggenau, and Dornbracht, and an enthralling week at Salone del Mobile.Milano and Fuorisalone.it—the fair itself and the myriad parties, events, and exhibitions that occurred in tandem throughout the Milan area.

Although it's always nice to return home to L.A., our time in Italy was nothing short of magical.
