Most importantly if you do experience an eye emergency while traveling, find an eye doctor near you. Some eye conditions can lead to permanent vision loss if not treated appropriately. Don’t wait!

Last night was the first time we turned the lights back on and unveiled our store front windows since the horrible looting in LA. We felt a great peace and joy lighting up the dark streets where there are many ‘For Lease’ signs. Support small businesses and BELIEVE that things will only get better. At Pasadena Optometry Center, we genuinely care about the health and safety of our patients, team members and communities. We know the uncertainty of the current situation may seem concerning, but we are hopeful that this will pass as we all make a concerted effort to slow down the spread of the COVD-19 virus. We want you to know, that although much has changed in our lives in the past few days, you can continue to count on Pasadena Optometry Center for a familiar and comforting experience.

The health and safety of our guests and employees has always been our top priority. We have been closely monitoring the "Coronavirus" (COVID-19) situation as it has unfolded and in addition to our standard health protocols, we have also taken additional measures to keep our community as healthy as possible, including:
* Additional cleaning and disinfecting of high touch surfaces with increased frequency.
* Reinforcement of proper hand-washing, hygiene and health standards.
* Encouraging our team members to remain at home if they are not feeling well.
* Updating our team with any additional recommendations made by the CDC or the California Optometric Association.

Wednesday the California Optometric Association (COA) issued its strong recommendation that all California Optometrists should "voluntarily suspend nonessential or non-urgent optometry care for the next 14 days."

We at Pasadena Optometry Center wholeheartedly agree with the recommendations of the COA and are rescheduling all appointments that are non-urgent. We will have limited office hours daily from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM for patients with urgent eye concerns for the next two weeks, unless otherwise notified. For those patients who need to pick up glasses and/or contact lenses, our office will be open during the aforementioned hours. Please call the office ahead of time to confirm a deliver date/time.

If you are experiencing eye pain, a sudden change in vision, red eyes, discharge, or seeing flashes and floaters, please contact our office between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM or call Dr. Van Woerkom at 626-367-5226. Our 24-hour phone line will also be available if you need to reach the doctors after hours. All messages/text will be answered in a timely manner. We understand that this may serve as an inconvenience to some of you, but we thank you for your understanding at this time.
