When you pray, when you say, "Let there be light," what you're doing is not begging God--some outside entity--but you're allowing yourself, "letting" yourself, be available to this light. The paradigm of God outside of us is one that many people get stuck in. They're always looking for something outside of themselves to fix themselves. As we in Unity know, this is an inside job. The inside light transforms us and that transforms the exterior world. So, as we change internally, our world changes externally. We understand that process, "As within, so without."
