Providing support and personalized exercise instruction to those facing cancer. Through her knowledge and expertise she helps lead participants through a full body workout to enhance their strength, endurance, and range of motion using elastic resistance bands and stability balls.
Over the years this partnership has allowed The Dynamic Advantage the opportunity to help hundreds of people regain some quality of life, strength, energy, and confidence while going through the numerous experiences that come with a cancer diagnosis. From today's PAA Cycling Tour de Sponsor Ride meet Marco and Connie, The Dynamic Advantage awarded their courageous finishing of the climb out of Eagle Rock on Colorado Blvd. You have heard of Queen and King of the mountain, they get to the top first. Connie and Marco brought up the rear of the group and here given the Serf of the Mountain award. They each get a JumpStart program with us, beginning with a consultation with Rick Caputo, then six Dynamic Strength Training sessions.
PAA Cycling's Tour de Sponsor Ride today brought this large group to our fitness home. Yes we all fit inside as Rick Caputo provided a short presentation of how we help people get strong.
A great morning Thursday training John Gantus and Gus Salgado. They train individually and they do the "farmer carry" at the same time around our training space. We all were in our TDA jackets. !
We had an amazing weekend at the SUCCEED! conference, hosted by AFS (the Association of Fitness Studios), in Irvine, CA. One of the significant highlights was seeing an amazing couple, Lynne & Augie Nieto. Augie is a remarkable 14 year survivor of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). He is also the co-founder and retired CEO of Life Fitness, one of the leading manufacturers of cardiovascular equipment in the world.
The Nietos created Augie's Quest to raise research funds for discovering treatments and cures for this deadly disease. Having been robbed of his ability to move like he did prior to his diagnosis, he now makes presentations around the world with Lynne, his high school sweetheart and wife of almost 40 years.

Creating exercises to improve function.
It was April 1, 1996 when Dynamic Strength Training (DST) was born! This was the first day we ever coached a group of people using our personalized fitness program. The challenge came from using multiple levels of elastic resistance tubing with handles.
We're still volunteering our time at the Cancer Support Community in Pasadena but we're proud to have expanded our reach to our club in Eagle Rock, CA as well as NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab and even the City Of Hope where we currently have our DST program serving 11 breast cancer survivors in the Return To Wellness program led by Marlene Maroun-Flowers.
Here's a little inside view of the Los Angeles Lakers' training headquarters in El Segundo. The big machine is a unique anti-gravity treadmill called the Alter-G. It can actually make you significantly lighter through the use of an air bladder that can "raise" you off the tread to help regain stamina progressively as you heal.-The team also trains with elastic resistance tubing that's similar to what we use in Dynamic Strength Training!

Last Tuesday, Marlene Maroun-Flowers, represented us for the final evening session at the Return To Wellness program at the Cancer Support Community in Pasadena. She coached 10-12 ladies who are experiencing breast cancer as they learned how to enhance their recovery through our Dynamic Strength Training program which uses elastic resistance tubing to create safe, effective muscular challenges. The grant-funded program started there in 2000.
