Developing a Novel Therapy for Excessive Sweating
“One day, this Technology of Beauty may end up being called The Technology of Confidence,” said Dr. Grant Stevens in response to insights from Niquette Hunt, CEO of Candesant Biomedical. Because as she notes in this interview, the field of aesthetics is often so much more — self-care, wellness, confidence, feeling comfortable in your own skin, the list goes on and on.
Drawing on her experience at Proctor & Gamble, Revance, and other notable enterprises, Niquette is hyper-focused on hyperhidrosis as Candesant’s chief executive, with the goal of developing a treatment for the 84 million Americans who suffer from excessive sweating.
And the news she brings us is nothing short of astounding: a patch so powerful it’s categorized as a Class 2 medical device. By leveraging “targeted alkali thermolysis” to deliver a micro-thermal injury directly to the sweat duct, a 3-minute procedure can effect up to 2-3 months of sweat-free results.

A few weeks back, our incredible president not only delivered her own talk at the Certified Aesthetic Practice Program (CAPP) — she ended up moderating the entire day on a moment's notice! Thank you for doing such an amazing job, and of course a big thank you to and for putting on such a fantastic event!
On this week's episode of The Technology of Beauty, produced by Influx, it seems as though the hottest topic in aesthetics right now is exosomes. And if the research we're seeing tells us anything, herein lies the potential to remake the entire subject of healing, let alone revolutionizing aesthetics as we know it.
Yes, it sounds almost exaggerated or absurd — but the science shows that the more we understand about exosomes, the more likely it is that we can leverage the body's own regenerative potential to encourage targeted healing.
Rion's Commercial Lead Jodi Brichan joins Dr. Grant Stevens for a fascinating interview, wherein she does a far better job than we can of exploring a technology that seeks to restore beauty by healing what needs to be healed on an individualized basis.
The future is approaching at breakneck speed, so tune in for the latest episode of to find out how these abstract theories about exosomes are about to hit the market in the form of versatile new aesthetic products with a variety of innovative applications.
On this week's episode of The Technology of Beauty, produced by Influx, we hear from a man with an innovative vision for the future of aesthetics real estate — Cloud Medspas. Vansanity Founder Ignacio Fanlo sits down in the studio to discuss how the startup's Silicon-Valley-inspired business model is empowering independent providers through on-demand access to treatment space, capital equipment, and product, as well a host of ongoing business support services.
While some aesthetic professionals may not find the cutting edge of business innovation as compelling as the cutting edge of aesthetics techniques, this episode may surprise you. We are happy to help Davis Facial Plastics showcase their board-certified plastic surgeons with an exquisite and accessible new design.
As Dr. Davis himself says, “Good plastic surgery does not make the news – and usually is never spoken of. At its best, good plastic surgery softly accentuates the beauty we already have.” And we are proud to present a website that softly accentuates the exceptional beauty of his work.
Today we celebrate equality, decency, and enlightenment. May we only see more of such things in the world.

Galderma recently announced at the Vegas Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetic Dermatology meeting that RelabotulinumtoxinA was successful in treating glabellar lines and crow’s feet according to topline results from two phase III clinical studies.
The trials revealed that this new toxin can produce results in as little as two days that last for up to six months.
Unlike powdered botulinum toxins that require mixing, RelabotulinumtoxinA comes in a ready-to-use liquid that Galderma claims will eliminate “variability, errors and risks associated with reconstitution.”
Our amazing and inspirational President was recently featured with a profile in the May/June issue of The Aesthetic Guide that highlighted her exceptional leadership abilities - link in bio.
Article excerpt:
The fact that she works at the intersection of largely male-dominated fields such as marketing, aesthetics and tech is all the more impressive considering that, Erica is the first female President at any of the roughly 30 medical marketing agencies in the U.S.
"I was excited to step into this new role and help guide Influx in its ongoing mission to elevate the standard of digital marketing services for private aesthetic practices," Erica expressed, "because I love to see people become more confident in their own skin, and the aesthetic medical technologies and treatments of today are making this truly possible. This also gives me the opportunity to positively impact and inspire other women leaders throughout the industry."

Influx co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Max Baybak was recently featured in an article on inc.com, titled "10 Essential Things to Do When Starting Your First Business." Here are some of Max's thoughts on the subject.
Inc: What's the best way to track your financials when you're first starting out? What are the metrics you should be most concerned with?
Max: Knowing what metrics to pay attention to in the beginning has a lot to do with your business model, but I will say that many companies spend too much time obsessing over profitability early on when they need to focus instead on tracking the volume of jobs completed or products moved and pushing that up and to the right. If you have a recurring revenue business, focus on MRR and retention.
Of course, profitability matters greatly, and some companies swing too far the other way, ignoring it entirely. The point is that it can be counterproductive to get overly focused on profitability early on. Assuming you have solid unit economics and a clear path mapped to profitability, you're better off trusting the process, keeping your head down, and focusing on pushing product out the door in increasing volume.
