Dear Valued Customers,

On Saturday August 8th, 2020, Perry's Joint will host our 10th annual scholarship fundraiser for a group of deserving John Muir high school seniors. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic we will have to institute new rules to ensure a safe and smooth day.

● Customers will only be allowed to order 4 sandwiches per person per order. Drinks, ice cream scoops, and chips will also be available for purchase.

● We will not be able to offer ice cream shakes, green drinks, espresso drinks or half sandwiches.

● To maintain social distancing, only 3 customers will be allowed in the store at one time.

● We will not be able to take phone or Postmates orders.

As an alternative, we have set up a Go Fund Me page to make contributing to the scholarship easy and safe. (or www.perrysjoint.com) We thank you for your understanding. 🥪

Meet the scholars:

Haley Cogshell, I recently graduated from John Muir High School as Valedictorian. I am grateful that I was able to be academically strong while engaged in many extracurricular and community service activities. This Fall I will be attending UCLA majoring in Human Biology to become a surgeon or OBGYN physician. I aspire to help increase the African American representation in the medical field and I will strive to be one of the best doctors.

Hasan Spencer, a recent graduate of John Muir Early College Magnet was the recipient of the Posse Foundation scholarship and will attend Bucknell University this fall, majoring in Political Science. Hasan has always been passionate about architecture and building structures. But it was through his experience with the UCLA VIPS program that he transitioned his building skills and love of architecture into other charges like justice for all, personal integrity, and environmental causes. Hasan gained valuable mentorship from the on-campus program, MPYD. He was also involved in UCLA EAOP, Leaders for Change, Black Student Union, Rotary Youth Leadership, and JMHS Varsity Basketball. Participating in Chris Holden’s Young Legislator program, Hasan cemented his dedication to community causes and he will be pursuing a career in Urban Planning and eventually politics.

Summer Aaron, a proud mighty-mighty stang! Summer was apart of the Arts, Entertainment, Media academy at John Muir High School. She is a scholar-athlete as she took so and college classes and had an overall 3.6 GPA. Summer was the team captain of the volleyball and softball team. Social media manager for BSU (Black Student Union), Activities Commissioner for ASB (Associated Student Body), participated in Leaders of Change, Miss Black Pasadena, and was the Stats Girl for the varsity boys basketball team... Summer also plans to attend Clark Atlanta University.

Perry’s Joint Scholarship 2020: We will host our 10th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser 🎓 this Saturday, August, 8, 2020 from 10am-4pm.

Every year in August since 2010, Perry's Joint donates 100% of its funds 💵 for 1 day— to 1 to 3 selected High School graduates. These selected scholars have all been accepted to 4-year Universities and have been hand-selected and monitored throughout the year by Perry himself.
With the hopes of raising more than last year's fundraiser amount of $5,000— this year Perry's Joint has extended the fundraiser from 1 day to a WEEK! We have created a gofundme ( or www.perrysjoint.com ) that will run from now (8/3/2020) until Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Again, the main event will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2020, from 10 am to 4 pm (2051 Lincoln Ave. Pasadena, Ca 91103). The money raised via and the money customers spend () on August 8th will be combined and split between each scholarship recipient.
