As I mentioned, faith is part of my ideal life. This song reminds me that it really does not matter what is happening around me. I can have a good day because I am loved by God.

As I’m healing from pneumonia, my favorite way to get out is to take Sam to the field to let him run around and sniff everything. I get some sun, and he gets to run 😊

That Ideal Life we are all in search of. For each of us it is different. For me it is faith, family, and travel.
My baby started High School today and as we move through this upcoming year I will share sneaks and peaks of the Ideal Life I have been, and am continuing to create for me and my family.
I also look forward to helping you find yours.

So my advice? Don't catch pneumonia. I was home for a week before ending up in the hospital. Then, back home. The doctor said it will be one to two months before I am back on my feet. How crazy is that??

Eat healthy, exercise, and most of all, drink fluids. Get your rest. Nothing is so important that you should push yourself to the brink. It takes way too long to get back on track!

Having to eat gluten free can be hard. Gluten is in so many things. But I was looking for a little help with dinners, so I tried a few meal services. Here is what I found.

By far, hungry root is the best meal service if you are gluten free! If you mark Gluten Free for your diet choice, then that is what you get. Gluten free pastas, meals, the whole works. In fact, if a choice for substitution has gluten in it, you cannot choose it. It is greyed out. I highly reccomend them. Also, the fresh ingredients comes prepped and you can have a meal ready in 15 minutes. The recipes come on the back of your receipt. It does not have seperate recipe cards, but that didin't bother me.

Home Chef was a no go from the first box. You can order Paleo Friendly, but it still has wheat in it. The word frinedly means that you will still get grains in your box, and some of them might have wheat. That is not my understanding of a Paleo Diet. The meals can be made in 30 minutes or less. The ingredients are fresh, but you do have to cut, dice, etc... They do have seperate recipe cards, but this was not a plus for me.

Dinnerly was similar. You can mark Gluten Free Friendly, but that does not mean that you will not receive gluten ingredients in your box. You have to pay attention as you cook. Like dinnerly, the fresh ingredients need to be chopped, diced, etc... They do come with recipe cards if you are looking for that.

So for my GF readers, let's give each other a hand. If you have found other meal services that have completely Gluten Free options, give them a shout out by mentioning them below.

I'm giving away my age, but I was raised at a time when you just didn't share your story. It was private. And to share my story is also to share my sister's story, my mother's story, and my father's story. But this book is so near and dear to my heart. I wanted to announce it on the 17th of March, the anniversary of my brother's passing, but somehow I just didn't get around to it.

But here it is, in legacy to my brother, the long awaited book. His stories were used to evaluate three different types of theoretical backgrounds in therapy, and how they could help someone with his background. It goes through sessions that illustrate how to use the techniques. May your light ever shine my brother, and may you impact many people by your story.

My writing partner, Jessica Tranquillo, and I got to take a look at a few book cover choices today. We can't share it yet, but we are both super excited about this next step in our publishing journey. Can't wait to share the cover with everyone once we can!

Don't like to make New Year Resolutions? Your not alone! Many people find it overwhelming to follow a check list throughout the year. Yet they still have that lingering thing in the back of their mind that they want to work on. If that is you, pick a word that sums up the change you want to make. This year, I choose gratitude!

I find editing to be an interesting process. My sister does my content and grammatical editing, but right now I am in the final stages of publishing a Devotional. I am going through and making sure that certain words are capitalized, and that others are not. To do this, I use the find function. I have noticed a few things about myself in the process. For instance, by looking at how many times a word is found in the document, I have determined my favorite words that I use when I am writing. I have also found that once I have looked at the same word about 100 times, I start to question if it is spelled correctly. The brain is fascinating to me, which is why, of course, I became a Mental Health Therapist in the first place. It is also why I enjoy coaching so much. We just don't always have an opportunity to make note of the things we ourselves do. But I have found that editing is allowing me insight into myself. I'll let you know when the book is finished. As the holidays draw close, take time to set expectations for yourself, and for your children. Everyone dreams of the perfect holiday. But keep in mind the different personalities in your house. Don't expect your perfect holiday to look like your spouse's, or your children's. Find a way to do one thing for each family member that makes their holidays bright, and watch the joy on their face as they experience what makes their holidays bright.

Sometimes, when you set out to make something easier on yourself, you end up making a mess. As such, I apologize for all the missed posts.

I am publishing a journal in Amazon. I started out designing it in Canva. It looked beautiful. I exported it into a PDF, then realized that I could not move it into Kindle Create from there, so I spent hours upon hours trying to get it converted to Word. Normally, I wouldn't worry about this, I can upload a PDF to KDP, but I needed to set the size of the book and change the margins. So I waited, and waited, and waited.....

I breathed a sigh of relief when it had finally converted, until I took a look at the word document. It had put things in headers, used question marks for the number 2, and converted many other things in ways that they had not originally been formatted.

Once I got that cleared up, it still would not upload to Kindle Create. No worries, KDP accepts Word Documents too. Except that the journal had converted into an 8x11 document, and I had started out designing a 6x9 journal, a common size for them.

I am now having to readapt it to a 6x9 format, which will take some time. In the meantime, in an effort to have it up on Amazon in time for Christmas Gifts, I caved and submitted it in an 8x11 format. And as always, it is better to laugh at the comedy of errors, accept your fate and move on, then to get stuck in a cycle of having to have it your way. And so, I acquiesce.

To All My Friends Who Are Authors:

I was uploading a Prayer and Gratitude Journal to KDP today. There is a new question that one must answer to publish their manuscript. Did you use AI for any part of your book (that is paraphrased). Anyone who is a writer should take pause as they answer that question. AI has caused a great disruption in the movie industry. Producers would love to harness AI in such a way that writers for scripts are no longer needed. Instead, they will only need plot editors. AI would write the script, then a plot editor would go through and make any necessary edits to it. There are plenty of reasons to argue with the producers over this. But if you are a writer of any kind, then it would be wise to find a way to get behind the strike, or soon, writing will not be a way to support you and your family. Publishing houses won’t need writers any more than producers if we allow the movie industry to legitimize this kind of writing. If you know someone in the movie industry, it is time to step up. Take them a meal, pay a bill for them, baby sit their kids for a day, what ever it takes to help them push through the storm. Because before long, you too will need the same support.
