What a great night celebrating this year’s 8th grade class of Diamondbacks at tonight’s 8th Grade Dance! The students danced the night away and sang their hearts out to their favorite songs. Even some of the Big Diamondbacks joined in on the fun! We’re going to miss this special group of 8th grade leaders. ❤️❤️❤️

Special thank you to NJHS and their sponsor, Mrs. Hall, Student Council and their sponsor. Mrs. Gilbert, and to our fabulous PTA and PJHS staff volunteers for putting on a dance that our students won’t soon forget!

We had a blast treating our Diamondback teachers and staff to a pancake breakfast this morning as part of ! This amazing team builds Pearland proud each and every day through their commitment and dedication to our students. We ❤️ our Diamondback staff! Thank you for everything that you do!

Congratulations to our Diamondback Girls Soccer Team for their 3rd place finish in the Pearland ISD Junior High District Soccer Tournament! We are Diamondback Proud!

Congratulations to our Diamondback Boys Soccer Team for winning 3rd place in the Pearland ISD Junior High Soccer Tournament in a thrilling finish on penalty kicks!

Recently, Pearland Junior High South Theatre won the UIL District One Act Play contest with their show, “Where the Sky Meets the Sea” by Mandy Conner. In addition to best show, South took home a host of all-star cast awards, including Best Actor (Amanda Downtain) and Best Technical Theatre. We are so very proud of the hard work and dedication that our students put into this show! PJH South Theatre is under the direction of Mrs. Gretchen Meyer.

At last night’s Pearland ISD Star Awards Banquet, we honored our 2023-24 staff award winners: Stevetta Abron (Paraprofessional of the Year), Harrison Knight (Glenda Dawson First Year Teacher of the Year), and Rosetta Ames (Teacher of the Year).

We’d like to give a special shout out to Harrison Knight for being named Pearland ISD’s Secondary Glenda Dawson First Year Teacher of the Year award winner!

Cloudy skies couldn’t keep Diamondback students and staff from experiencing today’s solar eclipse. Kids and grown ups alike were filled with awe as they used the solar glasses to explore the sky. Look at all those smiling faces!

Recently, PJH South presented the annual STEM Night, featuring stations and vendors from the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. This event was sponsored by Pearland ISD Education Foundation Innovative Teaching Grant, CCEF Educational STEM Grant, PJHS Student Council, PJHS National Junior Honor Society, and Marco’s Pizza.

Weather permitting, all students (except those who opted out) will have an opportunity to view the solar eclipse during 5th period on Monday, April 8. This should be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students, but safety must come first! Please review the attached safety reminders with your student. If clouds or weather prevent students from viewing the eclipse outside, students will view a NASA live solar eclipse broadcast during class.
