Coeur d'Alene Soap Works
Coeur d'Alene Soap Works makes handmade, all natural soap as a better alternative to the harsh chemicals found in commercial beauty products.
As I have grown older I have had more trouble with my skin drying out and no matter what soaps or lotions I use I haven't not had good results. I began wondering if it was the chemicals in the products I was using so I decided to delve into research and go back to a craft I had once used, soapmaking. Understanding the qualities of the oils and I am using and how to combine them has led me to be ab
well, Glenn and I are in the process of moving our home. We’re just going across town and it’s a long story but it may take a couple of months or more to get settled. We’ve taken the planners off-line because all of the tools are packed and in the storage until we get situated. We’re still selling our blade replacement kits and of course all of my soap and bath products. We are downsizing. Between the yard the house repairs coming up here and there and trying to clean a house is big as we had was just overwhelming along with trying to run a business. I was planning to sell most of my furniture but the house sold the first day for cash so we scramble to get out. Hang with us until we can figure out how to set up shop again and where. Wish us luck because we are really pooped. And I have to say, I have the best kids in the world. We would’ve never gotten this Accomplished without them
Hi guys, we have a post that has been a long time coming but, we are moving our home, which means, until we can get settled and see if our house will support a shop, the continuation of building our planers is on hold. We are moving a little closer to my daughter, Glenn's kidney disease and dialysis has been giving him fits lately. He needs to rest and concentrate on getting the transplant and letting family take care of him. This doesn't set well with Glenn, he's always taken care of us, but, he finally agreed to the move. We are still selling the blade replacement kits and I am selling my soaps and bath products although we have put the shop on vacation until we find a home. We will let you know any updates ASAP and are sorry to disappoint anyone out there who really wanted a planer but didn't get one. Fingers crossed and a few prayers that the transplant happens fast and we can get Glenn back to excellent health. We love and appreciate all of our soapers out there who have given us their support .

Diaper Drive & Giveaway | Ultimate Guide to Hot Process Soap These past couple of years have been full of changes, blessings, challenges, and tears of both sadness and joy, especially as we have worked together to carefully and safely navigate our way through the COVID pandemic. In the past two years alone, we were forced to close our soap teaching studio due...
I’m very excited about Coeur d’ Alene soap works. Glenn is back with his planer business and it is going well. I’ll admit I haven’t posted soaps since Christmas; but, among other things, I’ve sold a lot of soaps and bath products locally. We are going to be moving shortly. We are truly moving down to a more manageable sized house very shortly so we may have a small interruption in business but we plan to, hopefully, have enough stock to keep everyone happy while we are making the transition.. Keep posted here for the latest news

Thank you everyone for your prayers and your kind thoughts. Glenn went through a very serious infection last month, I was hospitalized twice and lost a lot of weight but he’s a fighter. He’s still recovering our production may be up-and-down but he is determined to keep working through this.
Make sure and get your orders and they will be shipping out very quickly with a little wait time. Thank you
Hey guys, sorry the posts have been AWOL lately. Glenn has been in the hospital. Anemia set in and he's had to have transfusions and iron infusions. His numbers still aren't up and he's doing the Rip Van Winkle impersonation lately. Shop is open for soap and bath products but planer/beveler is on hold until we get him righted again. It's all related to his kidney disease so once we get it fixed they will do a procedure to help keep this from happening again.
We will open the shop as soon as possible. Say a prayer for quick recovery.
I was able to post about a dozen planer/bevelers on our etsy page today. Glenn is really beginning to feel better. Looks like his procedure was a success.
20% off on our etsy page at www.Etsy.com/shop/Cdasoapworks. Sale finishes the cyber week sale til December 1

We are open again. Thanks for your patience. We were incredibly disorganized this year and had to get out tax paper in order so we weren't in chaos at the end of the year. And, of course, I had to play with my new grandson. He's just so darn sweet.
We are getting ready to offer more soaps over the holiday season so keep us in mind if you are wanting special gifts, stocking stuffers or just something for you.
We will be out of pocket for a few days this coming week while our daughter brings our grandson into the world on Thursday. My 2 yr old granddaughter is taking care of me while mom is in the hospital and then together we will help mom for a few days. Please allow us a little grace time if you are placing orders next week as we will be away from the shop. Shipping will be fast once we get back as we will have planers ready to go.
Keep watch on the shop as my soaps will be coming on line as well as wax tarts, candles and bath products like bath salts, bath bombs, etc. Hopefully I can get a few videos done as well.
Glenn us taking a few days to cut wood and build up inventory. We have had a wonderful influx of orders but we don't want anyone waiting overly long for an order to ship. We will be out of the shop on Monday so we will probably post more planers by Thursday or Friday.
Our orders have been coming in fast and furious for our Original Planer/Beveler but we have manages to keep our shipping within time limits
if we ever receive more then 10 orders in a day, I will do The finishing touches on them and wait until the end of the week to package and ship them i find i can get more orders processed this way and keep shipping times within the limits we have set.
i am having a long overdue catarect surgery done tomorrow and then again on the 28th so we wont be working those two days, however, we will be taking orders. If we get a little behind because of this please be patient The delays will be short lived and I am so looking forward to not seeing the world in blurvision anymore.
Happy belated Moms day to all of you wonderful powerful women and Happy Fathers day to all the men who support our families in so many important ways

We are almost there! Glenn wants to open the shop when he has 50 planners in stock and we have 38. We will be opening the shop in a few days so spread the word and let people know they were opening up again. It’s been a long wait for us but we’re so happy to be back. When I open the shop I will make a post here and let everyone know we’re good to go thanks bunches and bunches for all of your patience you guys have been awesome!
We are getting ready to open the shop to sell our planer/bevelers again. Glenn is in the shop as we speak. Although demand will be high, we ask for your patience as we will be posting inventory as it is available rather than taking open orders for fulfillment. This will give him time to get his stamina back. We will open the shop in about one week. He hopes to have 50 planers finished and available to post by then. Fingers crossed.
Our Story
Glenn learned woodworking as a boy from his father. As Glenn is a perfectionist, he cannot leave any product unless it meets very stringent quality guidelines. After retiring, he was, of course, at loose ends. Seeing me using handmade implements to finish my soaps and other products that I make he began drawing and testing various tools for the soap making business. He designed and developed the very first, Original Soap Planer/Beveler. Until this planer hit the market there was nothing like it. He is continually tweeting and making small improvements to the design. As a soap maker of 38 years I can say that this little tool saves an incredible amount of time and has improved the look of the soaps I sell 100%. We have an almost perfect 5 star rating and his planer is the best selling one on the market to date. We actually get so many orders that he can hardly keep up and he decided to make this the only tool he’ll sell.
