These are SO helpful for us and our students!
From Positively Present
Our relationship to sleep in our society is at best, toxic. Too often we reward sleeplessness as a sign of dedication to work, an abundant social life or a signal of importance. Bragging about how little sleep one gets while still being able to (barely) function is treated as a badge of honor.

A great article about anxiety in children and how we can help
Treating anxiety in children - Counseling Today With childhood anxiety increasing at an alarming rate, early assessment and treatment can help children struggling with anxiety live a healthy life.
coping skills are necessary for everyone!
When we teach coping skills to kids, it's important to fill their toolboxes with a variety of different skills.
Because, of course, what works in one situation might not be helpful in another.
Here are 5 types of coping skills to teach your student:
1๏ธโฃ Deep Breathing - Examples: 4-7-8 breathing, belly breathing, pretending to smell a candle and then blow it out
2๏ธโฃ Expressive Strategies - Examples: Talking to someone, writing or drawing about how you feel, prayer/meditations
3๏ธโฃ Distraction - Examples: Walking away, finding something else to do, saying the alphabet backwards
4๏ธโฃ Positive Self-Talk - Examples: Reminding yourself that you can make good choices, telling yourself to focus on what you can control
5๏ธโฃ Physical Movement - Examples: Walking, stretching, yoga, pushing on something
These are just a few examples of each type, but to learn more about each type of coping skills, check out this post: https://www.counselorchelsey.com/blog/typesofcopingskills
