Thank you for having us, Pelham Living! We are honored to serve our community.
Today is International Self-Care Day, an opportunity for us to raise awareness about the benefits of self-care on mental, emotional, and physical health.
International Self-Care Day is recognized each year on July 24 because maintaining our own health can be practiced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Eating a healthy diet, participating in physical activity, and looking after your mental health are just a few ways to implement self-care into your daily routine.

Caregiving can present unique challenges and sometimes requires extra support. If you are supporting a loved one who is in hospice, you may need a break to refresh and reset. It’s important to attend to your own needs to avoid caregiver burnout and to give your loved one the best care possible.
Respite care is part of the hospice benefit that gives the primary caregiver a rest from the demands of providing daily care. During a period of respite care, your loved one will continue to receive care from their hospice team in a Medicare-approved facility, such as a nursing home.

At Aveanna Hospice, we believe in the power of love and compassion. We're touched by the heartwarming story of Dwayne Johnson singing a Moana song for a 4-year-old girl in home hospice care. This beautiful gesture reminds us that each of us has the ability to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Whether it's through a kind word, a small act of kindness, or simply being present, we can all bring light and joy to someone in need.
Dwayne Johnson Sings 'Moana' Song for 4-Year-Old Girl in Home Hospice Care: 'It's My Honor' Dwayne Johnson shared a video of himself singing a song from 'Moana' for a 4-year-old fan who is in home hospice care. At Aveanna Hospice, we are committed to bringing our patients the best care in the comfort of their homes – wherever home might be for them.
If your loved one lives in a nursing home, assisted living facility, or independent living facility, they can still benefit from hospice care.
When patients reside in facilities, they may choose to have hospice services at that location, in the comfort of their familiar surroundings. They will receive care from hospice professionals in addition to the care they receive from their place of residence.
Rest assured, your loved one does not have to leave their home. We can provide care wherever home is.
Happy Fourth of July! Today, we'd like to thank our caregivers and clinicians who are taking care of our patients and their families. Their devotion helps increase independence and allows patients to thrive in the comfort of their own homes.
