EDEM Tonton Nwèl Spreads Joy at Fermathe Hospital through Gestures of Generosity
On December 24, 2023, EDEM Tonton Nwèl, a well-known gesture of charity and generosity, lit up the holiday season by bringing the warmth of Christmas to patients at the Fermathe hospital. As part of its tireless commitment to the Haitian community, both locally and overseas, EDEM orchestrated a poignant distribution. Fifty envelopes, each containing a sum of 2,500 Haitian gourdes (HTG), were given to patients, along with seven (7) other envelopes of the same amount, graciously offered to some dedicated staff members. At the same time, a check for five hundred (500) us dollars (USD) was donated to the hospital office management, with the purpose of conducting deep cleaning measures for the benefit of the patients and other people visiting the place.
This demonstration of generosity goes well beyond a simple act of charity. It demonstrates EDEM’s unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the community. The organization aspires to raise the level of care within the hospital, thus contributing to the well-being of the patients. This evident concern brightened the sick rooms, highlighting the crucial importance of solidarity and compassion during the holiday season.

EDEM Tonton Nwèl Répand la Joie à l'Hôpital Fermathe avec des Gestes de Générosité

Le 24 décembre 2023, EDEM Tonton Nwèl, figure éminente de bienfaisance et de générosité, a illuminé la saison des fêtes en apportant la chaleur de Noël aux patients de l'hôpital Fermathe. Dans le cadre de son engagement infatigable envers la communauté haïtienne, tant locale qu'outre-mer, EDEM a orchestré une distribution poignante. Cinquante enveloppes, renfermant chacune une somme de 2 500 gourdes haïtiennes (HTG), ont été remises aux patients, accompagnées de sept autres enveloppes du même montant, gracieusement offertes au personnel dévoué. En parallèle, un chèque de 500 dollars américains (USD) a été remis aux responsables de l’hôpital, destiné à renforcer les mesures de désinfection au bénéfice des malades et des autres personnes fréquentant l'établissement.

Cette démonstration de générosité va bien au-delà d'un simple acte de charité. Elle témoigne de l'engagement inébranlable d'EDEM à faire une différence positive dans la communauté. L'organisation aspire à élever le niveau de soins au sein de l'hôpital Fermathe, contribuant ainsi au bien-être des patients. EDEM is a non-profit organization providing support and help young Haitian and foreign intellectuals need. In order to help and support those in need, our goal is in our name. EDEM stands for Èd pou Devlòpman ak Emansipasyon Moun. Which means Aid for Human Development and Emancipation. Our goal is to make EDEM the most present and useful organization in the world. Our calendars are set with impactful activities for all important dates in the Haitian culture.

Here is a few things we have accomplished so far this year:

-We were able to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, 2021

-We ended the day of agriculture and work in an extraordinary way with the patients of FERMATHE hospital by distributing hygienic kits to the patients, providing envelopes of 1500 Gourdes and also providing support to the hospital with boxes of drugs, solutions, intracaths', syringes, etc ...

-Mother's Day was special for us. We had a women's conference with over 10 women that participated. We honored more than 15 mothers on this day by giving them gifts and premium envelopes.

This is just the beginning and we have more work to do! Classes will be re-opening for this new academic school year and we plan to be there again to help more than 1000 children get back to school and first time students to attend.

Our mission is far from being accomplished and without your support we will not be able to accomplish our goal in making a difference.
