I’m a huge advocate for round dining tables, and for good reason! They create a more intimate and inclusive atmosphere, fostering easy conversation and making everyone feel like they’re part of the circle. Plus, serving food becomes a collaborative effort, bringing everyone closer as you pass dishes around the table.

As a designer, I’m always looking for ways to maximize function and foster connection. That’s why I love round tables - they’re not just space-saving, they truly encourage interaction and create a welcoming environment for friends and family to gather.

I am a firm believer that anyone should have a beautiful space to live in - regardless of budget. This is why I also wanted to share more affordable decor options with you to inspire any home updates! I remember when I first graduated college and was able to decorate an ‘adult’ apartment and I was lusting over the Crate and Barrel goodies, but my budget was not on board.

I would often go to craft stores and paint similar pictures or redo vases and other objects with rattan and ceramic-looking materials! Those are all still options to achieve the look you want, but we also have so many more options now with the beautiful World Wide Web - YAY!

I’ve been so darn busy this month I feel like I haven’t had much time to slow down - or deliver on some promises. For example - I mentioned a while ago, not being a fan of trends, and wanting to talk about some of the trendier things I do like. And I never did that. I hate to not follow through on things … so here I am a month late. As they say better late than never. 🥰

So here’s one thing I’m in love with - wood kitchens making a comeback. White kitchens are fantastic. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had them in most of my homes over the past few years (I’ve moved 5 times in 3 years…) and they’re lovely. But it just doesn’t feel practical if you use your kitchen a ton like I do. The lowers are always covered in specs. I am all about cleaning your cabinets, but a single splatter of coffee at 8 AM shows up and stares at me all day (not a fan). So I’m here for wood making a come back. I’m a big fan of oak and walnut… but I don’t discriminate because there’s something so beautiful about being reminded of the trees in your home. How magical.

Walked into this kitchen and instantly wanted to change the cabinets - but first decided to paint the space, update the lighting, add in some hardware, and a few other updates. Then BAM the space looked brand spanking new. I love to make updates that can be affordable, yet dramatic.

Battling the south Florida blues with a splash of color! ️ These stunning hydrangeas are defying the dreary weather with their vibrant blooms and incredible resilience. They remind me of the hydrangea haven I used to have back home.

We’ve had a cold front in South Florida this week - and when I say cold front I mean 50-60s. Being from Ohio I’m use to a cold front meaning temperatures in the negatives so I’ll take this cold front any day!!! (Although I must say I’m a little chilly 🌶️)
