Did you know that vehicle seat belts are made for adults and will not fit children correctly until they are approximately 4’9” tall? Incorrectly fitting seat belts can increase injury risk during a crash. This is why it is important to keep children in booster seats until they are 4’9” and can maintain their position for the duration of their trip.

In honor of Father's Day yesterday and today, I want to share the latest blog post from Postpartum Support International about the impact of PMADs on fathers/partners who have witnessed a traumatic birthing experience. ONE in TEN dads will develop a PMAD, and the rate of prevalence is even higher if the mother/birthing partner develops one themselves.
We cannot hope to adequately support mothers/birthing people experiencing PMADs without also supporting dads & partners!
Here is a link to some specialized resources developed specifically for dads/partners: https://www.postpartum.net/get-help/help-for-dads/

Join us for our Perinatal Support for Latinx Moms & Birthing People group!
This group is for anyone who is pregnant or postpartum (up to two years) and identifies as Latina, Latinx, or Latino. There is no definition or level of being “enough Latinx.” All are welcome who have a familial connection to Latinx culture. Our online groups are here to help you connect with other parents, talk about your experience, and learn about helpful tools and resources. Whether you are going through stress, adjustment to parenting, baby blues, or pregnancy or postpartum depression/anxiety, our groups are here for you. This group is in English, so group members will benefit most if they can understand and speak some English (perfection is not required!).

Take action to keep you and your baby healthy during pregnancy! Listen to your body and keep these things in mind to reduce your chances of getting preeclampsia and gestational diabetes:
🤰Before and during your pregnancy, try to eat heart-healthy foods and be physically active.
🤰If you’re planning a pregnancy and your healthcare provider says you need to lose weight to be healthier, try to do so before you get pregnant. Pregnant women shouldn’t try to lose weight.
🤰 Talk to your provider about how much weight you should gain during pregnancy since it’s different for every woman.
🤰Take care of your heart by keeping your appointments with your healthcare provider.
🤰Talk to your provider about anything that doesn’t feel right.
