Freemasonry Pennsylvania Infinity Lodge 546

Under the sponsorship of Brother Ronald B. Carson, District Deputy Grand Master, First Masonic District of PA. F&AM, and to support R.W. Grand Master Larry Derr’s theme, starting Tuesday, March 26, General Masonic Education classes will be offered monthly through June at the Masonic Conference Center – Patton Campus in Memorial Hall on the fourth Tuesday, at 1 p.m., and the first Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The sessions will last no longer than 75 minutes and will cover multiple subjects. No pre-registration is required. All Master Masons are welcome to attend regardless of what lodge or state. The classes will be conducted by Brother Tom Labagh, P.M., Abraham C. Treichler Lodge No. 682, F&AM, Elizabethtown. This is NOT a replacement for local Lodge Masonic Education or mentoring of candidates and officers. It is supplementary and intended to spark more interest in the philosophy and culture of Pennsylvania Freemasonry.

Thanks to Melita Lodge No. 295, The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia; Concordia Lodge #67 F&AM, Jenkintown Masonic Temple; and Palestine Roxborough Lodge #135, Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill, for donating funds towards the purchase of an AED, or automated external defibrillator, for the Masonic Conference Center - Patton Campus, where Elizabethtown Day Lodge No. 816 meets. Many Masonic lodges have received AEDs over the last couple of years (as featured in the summer 2022 issue of "The Pennsylvania Freemason": https://issuu.com/pr263/docs/fm_august_2022/12), and this donation continues the good work done by those efforts.

For many Masons, involvement in Masonic appendant bodies and clubs provides a supplement to the Blue Lodge experience. High Twelve International, which currently has Pennsylvania Masons leading its organization as International President and International Third Vice President, respectively, is one of those groups. Founded in 1921, the club got its name from the standard meeting time, noon. Master Masons and guests meet once a month for a meal, presentation and fellowship. High Twelve provides support to lodges and Masonic youth groups, and, through their Wolcott Foundation fellowships, individuals pursuing a career in federal government or foreign service.

Congratulations to Brother William "Bill" Fairer, 33°, PM, Newtown Lodge #427 F. & A.M., celebrating 75 years of Masonic service in 2024! Some highlights from the past 75 years in Freemasonry include serving as Worshipful Master of his lodge (bottom left picture) and Commander in Chief of the Valley of Allentown, A.A.S.R. and receiving his 33rd degree from the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Freemasonry, NMJ.

Hackenburg-Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 19 had a special guest at their January stated meeting: Thomas Jefferson. Although Jefferson was not a Mason, his son-in-law and eldest grandson both were.

James Cochran Lodge No. 614 had a unique first stated meeting of the year. A power outage could have interfered with their scheduled meeting, but instead they conducted the meeting by the light of glowsticks and flashlights. Way to go!

Fidelity Lodge #474 F & AM donated $3,000 to the Wilkes-Barre Police K-9 Unit, with Patrolman Joe Homza and police dog Chase accepting the donation from the lodge. This is one of several efforts from Pennsylvania lodges to support K9 programs in Pennsylvania, which are often funded through donations versus coming out of a department's budget.

This rather charismatic chap may be one of the more familiar faces from the history of the Royal Family.

Initiated in Sweden in 1858, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), became Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England in 1874. He held the post until his accession to the throne in 1901. He was an enthusiastic freemason, who helped to increase the popularity of freemasonry in the Victorian era.
