🚧 Heads up neighbors! Scenic Highway will be impacted by traffic updates, and therefore some of our neighborhood will probably see a bit more traffic for detours.
See the details from FDOT Northwest Florida below👇
The Florida Department of Transportation will close Scenic Highway (State Road 10A/U.S.90) just north of Manolete Street for a period of 18 days, beginning Sunday, July 14, to reconstruct a portion of the roadway.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured using Langley Avenue, Spanish Trail and Summit Boulevard. Signage will be in place to direct drivers through the detour.
This work is part of a $4.8 million milling and resurfacing project on Scenic Highway (State Road 10A/U.S.90) from south of Interstate 10 to south of Hyde Park Road in Pensacola. This project also includes stormwater management improvements.
During construction, drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday through Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
The project is estimated for completion in mid-2025.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
For more information, visit the Florida Department of Transportation District Three on the web at www.nwflroads.com, follow us on Twitter and Instagram , or like us on Facebook at MyFDOTNWFL.

We have some REALLY exciting news about our Picnic in the Park this Saturday, we have booked the incomparable Katie Dineen!! 🤗🤗
New resident to Scenic Heights, Katie Dineen is singer-songwriter musician based out of Pensacola, Florida. She plays guitar and piano as well as sings, and her partner Jacob Palmer (guitarist and vocalist for NOBIUS) and her also have a duo band together called Golden Hours. She founded and hosts the Pensacola Songwriter Rounds, a monthly Sunday show series in which songwriters share their original songs to a listening room at The Handlebar in downtown Pensacola.
On August 2nd, Katie is releasing her first album. This One’s For You, Katie’s debut ten-track album, is a mix of full band and stripped down acoustic songs. This One’s for You is a labor of love that’s taken years to release, with songs in the album ranging in emotion, while generally maintaining an uplifting, hopeful energy.
P.S. We’re keeping any eye on the weather for Saturday evening. 👀🤞

😳 The shelter is dangerously low on blankets! We use blankets for every pets kennel, so that they have something soft to lay on. We need your help to keep these babies comfortable during their stay.
Donations of new or lightly used blankets can be dropped off at the shelter any time. We have a drop off location right outside the main lobby doors if we are not open.💙❤️💚
We also have our Amazon wishlist for even more convenience.
