For over 22 years, Beacon of Hope Africa has been a steadfast pillar in nurturing and empowering young men in the community. However, the rising cost of food has recently made it challenging to ensure the youth receive the nutrition they need.
To overcome this obstacle, Beacon of Hope Africa has launched the Fueling Futures fundraiser with a goal of raising $20,000 to cover food expenses for the coming year. Your contribution will make a significant impact in their lives, helping to nourish these young men and sustain the organization’s mission of care and support. This summer has been a very unusual season for us. Among family, friends, and colleagues we have experienced eight deaths in the last two months. Five were older people, three of whom were in failing health. Two were total surprises. One was a dear friend. Of the three younger people, two were in their forties, and one was a teenager.
Death reminds us all about life's brevity... and uncertainty. It forces us to ask the question: "Am I prepared for my inevitable appointment with death... Am I ready to meet God?"
Even I, a follower of Jesus, am challenged with this question. In my heart I ask, "Do you know me, Jesus?" In such moments of vulnerability, I hope to hear Jesus' reassurance: "Yes, Doug, I know you! You belong to me."
If you don't have that assurance, let me encourage you to turn your heart to God and to what He offers you in Jesus Christ.

One of the surest moments in Lauren’s life was her call to serve in Ukraine. While Ukraine was far from Lauren’s radar, God solidified her call, witnessing how Missionaries shared the Gospel through English ministry at a Christian camp. God led her to serve in Odesa where she directed an English Conversational club, led groups in women’s and youth ministry.
Vanya is a Ukrainian native, seminary student and musician who serves in the church as a youth and worship leader. He is passionate about teaching the Gospel, apologetics and sharing his faith in Jesus whenever he has the opportunity. Vanya and Lauren met through mutual friends and served together in an apologetics camp for youth.
Vanya and Lauren both have hearts to serve God and especially youth. They married in a time of war, and despite the challenges, God has blessed both to serve in the church together and to equip the next generation to grow in their love and understanding of Jesus and to be ambassadors for Christ, especially in the face of a raging war.
How different would the world look if we approached every day with the intention of bringing God glory through our words and actions!

The Bindemans are missionaries in France, where only 1% of the population are Christian believers, with over 30,000 villages lacking evangelical churches. They are committed to serving and planting churches in these underserved areas, focusing on relational evangelism and discipleship. Living among the people they serve, they aim to bring the Light of Jesus Christ into the spiritual darkness of France.
Joe & Bethany, along with their daughters, are actively engaged in ministry, serving churches in French villages where the need is greatest. Joe's evangelism and discipleship training with Campus Crusade for Christ, combined with Bethany's Bachelor's degree in Missions and ongoing pursuit of a Master's degree in Biblical Studies, equip them for this cross-cultural mission. They are dedicated to spreading the Gospel and nurturing growing communities of faith.

Meet Lutfu Kerem and Joy, a passionate duo dedicated to sharing their faith. Lutfu, a Muslim background believer from Turkey, has been spreading the message of Jesus since 2011. Joy, raised in a Christian homeschooling family in Florida, moved to Turkey as a missionary in 2010. Since their marriage in 2013, they’ve been planting churches and sharing the Gospel with Turkish-speaking communities.
After seven years of impactful work in Turkey, Joy’s visa wasn’t renewed due to their evangelistic efforts. This challenge expanded their mission to reach Turkish-speaking people worldwide.
Civil War? Well now, what we feared, has come upon us. At least in the form of a movie. On April 11th critically acclaimed “Civil War” opens in theaters across America. It is a harrowing story about factions fighting for control of this nation. The movie’s summary: “A journey across a dystopian future America, following a team of military-embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House.”
Of course, questions come to mind: “Who are the rebels?” and “Who is in the White House?”
One important feature of the American governance and power is the two-party system –the Democratic and Republican parties – that provide the American people two perspectives … and their corresponding choices… on how we spend our money, make our laws, and advance the American ideal of “the pursuit of happiness.” The two-party system is adversarial by design so that, through healthy debate, we can properly interpret the Constitution and formalize it into law.
For nearly two hundred and fifty years, with one big fracture called the Civil War, the United States’ Constitution has been a guiding light – and beacon of hope and freedom – to the entire world. The War Between the States – a war over slavery – was our biggest test of that ideal. Some argue that this war was about the sovereignty of each state and their right to make their own decisions. The pressing decision was over the right of states to keep or abolish slavery. President Abraham Lincoln argued that such an important decision had national implications and therefore was one for the Federal government, not individual states, to make.
So we went to war. At the end of four years and the loss of six hundred and twenty thousand lives, slavery was abolished. Never before or since did the United States suffer such loss of life. All other US-involved wars combined – including the Mexican War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War – do not total the number of American lives lost in the Civil War.
Today, we are again divided over values we hold and the laws we make that reflect them. Unlike the Civil War the fracture is now more personal and much more serious. Now, neighbor is against neighbor, brother against brother, friend against friend. We are divided, not over just over public policy but against personal choices and how law should be shaped by them.
News commentator, Brit Hume, has said that in his entire life and his knowledge of American history, he has never seen America divided more than we are today.
Is war coming again to America? If you ask a prepper, the answer is emphatically YES, and every family would be wise to prepare. If you ask our ideological and political enemies, the answer again is “Yes, and the sooner the better.” For our enemies, it is easier to watch us disintegrate from within than to waste their money and lives on an invasion or a nuclear strike that will come back and bite the homeland.
Any student of history knows that our beloved nation is in serious trouble. Unless we come to terms with the polarization of our values, unless we rediscover our ideals and faith, and return to the selfless virtues that made America strong and prosperous, our troubles will continue.
Civil War From filmmaker Alex Garland comes a journey across a dystopian future America, following a team of military-embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House.
At "The Send" a call was given asking participants to consider going to the 42% of the world that still doesn’t know that God loves them. 100's of people came forward saying "I will go".
Fortunately that's what Globe International was there for! We gave them next steps of where to go and a clear path of how to get there. We also explained how our services equip these potential world changers to stay on the mission field so they could make a lasting impact for Christ all over the World!
