It’s been a long time coming, but I have another casual round for you guys!

The past few weeks has been busy as ever, disc golf coming in on all fronts, and I haven’t had much time for editing. The 3rd Annual Fling at Double Horseshoe Farm blew my expectations away!

We had 42 players out to the course me and my family designed and slung plastic through the blustery October wind! 4 divisions of players battled it out and tons of prizes were awarded. This event was made possible by Legacy Discs, Peoria Frisbee Club (PFC), Underdog Sports & Fanfare in Peoria, Simply Signs and Screenprinting, and Jonathan Krieghauser - Country Financial.

Putting on an event like this takes a lot of effort, but the feeling of the general excitement of the players throughout the event and afterward leaves me rejuvenated and thinking about next year! October 5th, 2024 will mark the 4th Fling, so put it in your calendars! 📅

The event coverage is done except for the commentary, so these will be coming at you very, very soon! There will also be giveaways tied to the videos… 🎁 😏 🎁

What’s one of your favorite 2023 tournament experiences?

I had the opportunity to do my first tournament travel this year back in May in the Quad Cities at the Rumble! I was invited into an awesome AirBnb with a bunch of cool cats for the weekend and played 3 practice rounds, 3 tournament rounds, and some backyard putting games!

Being able to immerse yourself into your passion for a weekend is a surreal experience. I highly recommend giving yourself the chance to do so with one of your hobbies as it leads to a deeper understanding of what you actually value in those experiences. Experiencing God’s creation, fellowship with friends, exercising, mild competition, and occasional self reflection are a few of the greatest things about this sport for me.

What’s one stat you’re particularly proud of?

Mine is putting, but more specifically C1X. This year I haven’t put as much practice in on the green, but focusing on confidence and comfort has increased my scoring potential when near the basket. Maybe with some indoor putting league this winter, 2024 may have some all-time high putting stats!

It’s December in Central Illinois, and the weather has been miserable. While my editor was away, lots of footage has stockpiled and I think it’s a great time for 25 Days of Christmas!
