We are SO HONORED to introduce to you the 2024 recipient of the annual Dr. & Mrs. Gordon L. Barkley III Scholarship for Virtuosity, Miss Emily Dana! 🤗

Virtuosity is defined as doing the common, uncommonly well. As PHHS alumni, we have created this annual scholarship as a way to give back to the community while honoring an individual that exemplifies this characteristic continually inside and outside of the classroom.

Emily was chosen due to her PASSION for EXCELLENCE in all aspects of her life. During her time at Peoria Heights High School, she has participated in FIVE sports and EIGHT clubs, all while maintaining STRAIGHT A’s. She is a leader on the court and in the classroom, earning All Conference Awards in three sports, breaking the record as Peoria Heights High School girls basketball all time lead scorer, and graduating as Salutatorian of the class of 2024. 💪🏼

Doc's sister in law, Mrs. Thornton, a teacher at the high school, is pictured below with Emily after presenting her the scholarship at this year's award ceremony last night! ❤️

We want to CONGRATULATE Emily as she embarks on her next adventure at Illinois Central College in the fall and wish the entire class of 2024 ALL THE BEST as they GRADUATE...Keep your passion for life and remember you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to! 🎉

So much fun SPOILING Miss Carissa Plue for Administrative Professional day, we needed to celebrate ALL WEEK. 🫶 If you have called or visited our office, you have most likely had the pleasure of experience her KINDNESS in some way. 💕

She juggles so many tasks with a SMILE on her face and BLESSES EVERYONE around her. We sure are glad she’s ours. 💜

Dr. Barkley has had the GREAT HONOR of taking over as the Illinois Section Chair for the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international dental honor society, with fewer than 3% of the profession as fellows.🤩

Hosting his first induction ceremony was an EXCEPTIONALLY SPECIAL experience, as he got to induct one of his very own mentors, Dr. Lex MacNeil, the founding dean of Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine Illinois, where Doc graduated as a member of the inaugural class. 🦷

Also inducted as one of the 2024 fellows, not pictured, Dr. Mary Gomez, the director of OSF’s general practice residency program here in Peoria! Alongside Dr. MacNeil & Dr. Gomez, 4 other highly distinguished docs also got inducted including Dr. Marsha Hardy, Dr. Michael Gordon, Dr. George Mandelaris, & Dr. Kirk Noraian. 😃

Congratulations to this year’s newest fellows as this is truly an INCREDIBLE HONOR and is very much deserved by all!🏅

Night one, BLACK BAND Distillery for cocktails 🍸, followed by an AMAZING dinner at Saffron Social 🥩, and then off to the Civic Center for comedian Shane Gillis 😹🎤.…

Next morning 😴 Custom fittings shoes and inserts at Running Central 👟, and obvisouly needed new outifts to go with 💁‍♀️, then next door to ARDOR breads and provisions for a DELICIOUS brunch 🥐, followed by pedicures at Zen Nail Lounge 💅.

This crew sure does make it FUN to treat, and we hope they know how much they are TRULY APPRECIATED not just at the holidays, but all year round.
