It's time to jubilantly celebrate who God is in our lives in Jesus by gathering together at Trinity Lutheran Peoria on Sunday mornings for worship and Jubilation at Church. We'll start our new season of Jubilation at Church this Sunday, September 1, 9:30-10:30 am in the main Jubilation Opening Area with Serve & Play (and a popcorn snack too!). Being Labor Day weekend we realize that there may be opportunity for play and rest outside as a family. As we celebrate our country's Independence Day, we are reminded of the greater freedom won for us through the blood of Jesus. The second article (and Luther's meaning) of the Apostles Creed shares about God's warfare against sin, death and the power of Satan. Read this with your child/ren and ponder on it as well. It's THE important truth for our everyday living.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
What does this mean? I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord, who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned person, purchased and won me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil; not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and with His innocent suffering and death, that I may be His own and live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness, just as He is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity.
This is most certainly true.
This coming Sunday, July 7, 9:30-10:30 am is our July Sing & Play Day for all kids. We'll sing a bit, learn a bit about the second article of the Apostles Creed, have a snack and play for a while. There will be youth there to help out so you are welcome to drop your kid off and head to Bible study in the Walther Room with Pastor Mark.
>> First Note - On Sunday, August 18, 9:30 AM in the JUBILATION OPENING AREA we'll have our Family Meeting for the 2024-2025 Jubilation season - the time will include a devotion, welcome, and family information. All children will be offered time for supervised play and fellowship during the meeting.
Trinity Lutheran Peoria has a couple kid opportunities this week - please come if you are available!...
>> Wednesday, July 3, 10 am-noon - Kids Play Day - Trinity families and friends with 2-11 years old children are invited to come over to Trinity to make use of Trinity's green space, gym, playground and downstairs play rooms (it's nice & cool downstairs!). A snack and drink will be available. This is a parent-supervised time but there may be youth around to help out. No need to sign up, just come on over!
>> Sunday, July 7, 9:30-10:30 am - Sing & Play Day - We'll meet downstairs for some fun singing for a bit and then a time of play (kids) and conversation (parents) - take advantage of the time together to worship and fellowship this summer!
