Incredible progress has been made on the Developing New Opioid Intervention and Outreach Resources in Rural Illinois, a grant through the Connected Communities Initiative and the Illinois Innovation Network with Illinois State University. The Vision Pro spatial computing is currently in testing phases!

The team launched the first rural community outreach tour in Henderson County, IL, which serves as a testing and evaluation site for opioid education, awareness and intervention resources.

Along with ISU, we are collaborating to develop cutting-edge VR technology to combat the opioid epidemic and overdoses. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our mission to make a difference!

Episode 33 - It's All About the Patient The goal and focus of every health care provider is to do what is best for patients, but implementing that best practice can sometimes be a challenge.

Haylie Saldana Johnson has been a dedicated member of the OSF HealthCare team for three years, recently stepping into her role as a performance improvement specialist with OSF Innovation. She began her career as an exercise physiologist at the St. Jude Clinic, transitioning to Patient Experience at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center. Haylie’s favorite part of her job is witnessing how interdisciplinary collaboration can turn an improvement opportunity into a new process, service or benefit for patients and Mission Partners.

For Haylie, serving with the greatest care and love means approaching all interactions with compassion, kindness and a genuine desire to help others selflessly. With a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a master's in exercise physiology, she brings a strong educational background to her role. Outside of work, Haylie is an avid reader, enthusiastic gardener and animal lover, sharing her life with her husband, two cats and two dogs.

Meet Michelle, a dedicated standardized participant at OSF Innovation. With 2.5 years of experience at OSF Innovation, Michelle plays a crucial role in developing education-based simulations, allowing learners to practice in a safe environment before entering the health care field. For Michelle, serving with the greatest care and love means treating everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve. She holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science and is currently pursuing a Project Management Certification Program through Guild.

Outside of work, Michelle has a passion for travel and adventure. She completed a full marathon in San Diego with her best friend in 5.5 hours. Michelle's family is equally impressive: her daughter, Ayla, is a physician's assistant, and her son, Bowie, is the bass player in a band. This August, Michelle and her husband, Troy, will celebrate their 30-year anniversary with a trip to Alaska. We are proud to have Michelle as a Mission Partner at OSF Innovation!

Implantable Device Matrix | OSF Innovation Implantable Device Matrix is a medical device table where surgical teams can quickly pull any implant information they need during a surgery.

CancerIQ is an five-minute online survey that flags patients at risk for breast cancer based on personal and family history. A two-year pilot of the tool resulted in more than 20,000 women getting screened and identifying over 5,000 women at a high hereditary risk for cancer.

CancerIQ Case Study | OSF Innovation OSF collaborated with CancerIQ, a startup out of Chicago, to pilot the company's innovative, genetic screening tool that helps identify patients at high-risk for breast cancer.
