Italian-American Society of Peoria
Since its inception in 1929, the Society has grown substantially in both size and scope.
The Italian-American Society was founded in Peoria, Illinois, on October 5, 1929 by 17 men of Italian descent whose desire was to celebrate their heritage and support the welfare of group members. Today the Society's goals center not only on the welfare of its members, but also on that of the community. We continually strive to fulfill the dreams of those original founders by carrying on Italian t

Buon giorno! It’s National Ravioli Day. Get your eggs and flour ready and your favourite Italian music playing! ( don’t forget the wine also) 🍷🍷
Ravioli is any type of filled pasta that’s been sealed up. So, whether you have a penchant for tortellini, the humble ravioli, or the not-so-common agnolotti, they are all types of ravioli and deserve to be celebrated!
It may seem daunting to even consider making ravioli from scratch; and indeed, there are many good ready-made versions available if you are pressed for time or lacking in confidence.
However, you don’t even need a pasta maker to make a nice raviolo (a large, single filled pasta shape) for your dinner. Simply roll out a part of your pasta dough very finely on your worktop, fill with a filling of your choice, seal with a top layer of pasta, and then boil for 2-3 minutes. Serve with a tomato or cream-based sauce for a lovely, memorable meal on this day where we salute the ravioli!
💚❤️ Please share!!
Happy St. Joseph’s Day!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Just a reminder the meeting for today is canceled! Have a great day!!
A few of us drove to Bloomington to dine at The Lucca Grill. Wow! They have been in business since 1936 and we sure know why. Their food was very good. Most of us had their pizza, but a couple enjoyed pasta dishes. And of course, there was Peroni. Our server, Ira, was top notch and made great recommendations to us for dinner. We always have a good time at our dining out nights. Happy Italian-American Heritage Month!
