Hult Center for Healthy Living
Central Illinois' premier non-profit provider of comprehensive health education and wellness services for people of all ages.
Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to saving lives. Our Hult Center staff underwent Narcan training last week with Kristen from Jolt Harm Reduction Center to equip us to respond to opioid overdose emergencies. Please check out Jolt's page to see the amazing work they are doing in the community, and consider donating and getting trained as well! ⚡️
Our team educated over 600 kids this summer about the importance of mental health through our Navigating Our Brains and Emotions program! We practiced deep breathing while blowing bubbles, created kindness chains, learned why it is important to talk about our feelings, and had some fun exploring our 5 senses. It was another amazing summer at Hult Center! 🧠✨

It's National Eye Exam Month!
Did you know that regular eye exams are crucial for children's development? Hult Center's Adolescent Health Empowerment programs teach kids the importance of eye health, not just during National Eye Exam Month but all year round!
Our programs equip students with the knowledge and confidence to:
▪️ Understand the importance of regular eye exams
▪️ Learn how to schedule their own appointments (when they're ready)
▪️ Feel comfortable visiting the eye doctor
Healthy eyes, healthy future!

As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month this May, let's remember the importance of expressing our emotions. Bottling up feelings can weigh heavily on our mental well-being. Remember, it's okay to feel, to express, and to seek support when needed. Let's create a culture of openness and acceptance where no one feels alone in their struggles. Together, we can break the silence and build a community of empathy and understanding. Call 2-1-1 or visit https://www.hoiunitedway.org/heart-of-illinois-united-way-2-1-1/ for mental health resources.

*Celebrate every little win* - During Mental Health Awareness Month and beyond, let's take a moment to celebrate every small victory on our mental health journey. Whether it's getting out of bed, practicing self-care, or reaching out for support, every step forward is worth celebrating. Let's embrace progress, no matter how small, and remember that each little win brings us closer to healing and growth. Together, let's support one another and celebrate the resilience within us all.
Happy National Nurses Week to all of our amazing nurses out there, especially the nurses who serve the students at the Carle Health's School-Based Health Centers and our local schools.
