After Mohs surgery for skin cancer, this patient had a large defect on his right alar crease. An adjacent tissue transfer was performed, full thickness skin grafting to support his reconstruction.

We are so happy with his results, and so is he. This is an example of why seeing a plastic surgeon for the best skin cancer excision/reconstruction results is so important to ensure everything heals well, functions properly, and looks fantastic. 🌟Melanoma Monday: Early Detection Saves Lives🌟

🔎What is Melanoma Monday? Started in 1995 by the AAD, Melanoma Monday occurs on the first Monday in May. Melanoma Monday reminds everyone to perform a monthly self-exam of their skin to detect any new or changing areas of concern.

Why is Melanoma Monday so important?
- Melanoma is the most serious form of skin cancer, but when detected early, Melanoma is highly treatable.
- Melanoma can develop anywhere on the skin, even in areas not exposed to the sun.

🔍What can you do?
- Self-Exams: Make monthly skin self-exams a lifelong habit. Check your skin monthly for any changes in moles, spots, or irregularities.
- Remember your ABCDE's:
A: Asymmetry - One half of the mole doesn't match the other
B: Border irregularity - Edges of the mole are uneven
C: Color - The mole contains multiple colors or shades
D: Diameter - The mole is larger than a pencil eraser ✏️
E: Evolving - Changes to the side, shape, or color of a mole
