We’re reopening one step at a time! Our book drops are open. Curbside Pickup begins Monday, June 22. And the seven branches of the Bucks County Free Library will open on Monday, July 6. Starting Monday, June 8, library users can return items to book drops. There are more than 165,000 items in people’s homes across the county. Join us in Quakertown, Doylestown, and Perkasie for a two-hour su***de prevention training and learn to recognize the warning signs of su***de, learn to know how to offer hope, and learn to know how to get help and save a life.

Training is offered at the Quakertown Branch on Monday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m., Doylestown Branch on Thursday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m., and Perkasie Branch on Thursday, June 14 at 6 p.m.

QPR Gatekeepers (Question, Persuade, Refer) are trained to understand and recognize a mental health crisis. They learn the warning signs that someone may be contemplating su***de.

Gatekeepers will learn how to offer hope and help individuals to access appropriate supports. A Certificate of Completion will be provided at the end of the training.

This training is best for high school students and adults, is sponsored by Magellan Healthcare and is provided by Bucks County Su***de Prevention Task Force, Bucks County MH/DP.

Join us for our first-ever Comic Con®, which will take place on Saturday, May 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This family-friendly celebration of comics, pop culture, creativity, and fun will take place at the Doylestown, Langhorne, and Quakertown branch libraries. Our featured guests will be: novelist and comic-book writer Chuck Wendig, science-fiction/fantasy author Kristina Garlick, and comic book artist and Inkpot Award winner Al Wiesner. We've expanded the hours at our Perkasie branch -- we are now open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays! The Perkasie branch’s new hours are: Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come on in!
