He’s home!!!!

I am looking for a small microwave for Dave’s apartment. We are going to try to get prepared meals for him and having a microwave will make things easier for him. Let me know if you have one that you are looking to sell before I get a new one.

We would like to thank everyone who has been in the past month and a half supporting Dave and the deli. Those who have prayed and continue to pray. Dave is improving daily but still has a long way to go. He has been deeply touched by the support and encouragement from the community. We will be concentrating on getting his apartment walker accessible for his return whenever that is. Once again thank you all so much ❤️

Dave is progressing great. Going to have swallow test tomorrow hopefully so he will be able to eat and drink 🤞

I haven’t posted any updates on Dave lately because I have been away and haven’t seen him since he was transferred to rehab. I have been told he is settling in but is missing home and the deli. He still isn’t able to talk or write. We are working on opening either Friday or Saturday or both this week depending upon any volunteer cooks we get. I will update more once I get back home tomorrow.

Dave is being transferred to rehab today. He has a long road ahead but we are hopeful that he’ll make a full recovery.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time today and all who stopped in. I was visiting Dave this morning and I was so happy to see him wide awake and getting aggravated with me because my lip reading skills lack 😁! He is going to be getting moved into rehab soon and hopefully get fitted with whatever it is that allows him to talk with his tracheotomy. He is doing amazing but will have a long road of recovery.

Dave is improving slowly. He’s doing well on his tracheotomy. Sedation is being tapered off. Word yesterday was they are amazed how he’s doing because they had almost run out of options. Power of prayer ❤️

We will be open Saturday 8-1 with some guest cooks. Breakfast sandwiches, chicken salad, regular and buffalo chicken chili, burgers, chicken tenders and more to come!!!

Dave was stable enough to get the tracheotomy today. Let’s pray that he stays stable and can be moved to a step down unit by the end of the week!! This is GREAT news
