I am a very honest person. Sometimes honest to a faultā¦ like I have to say things because I feel like even if I am withholding something itās like I am lying.
So hereās the truth. The very first time I tried an essential oil. I was like what the heck is thisā¦ and it did nothing. This was probably 11 years ago. A friend had given one to me actually for a seatbelt burn that I had after a nasty car accident. It smelled gross to me and I used it once, the burn looked the same and I was like well that didnāt workā¦ oh boy little did I know.
Now, looking back I realized I was not ready for the healing powers of these little gems. And although that sucks because now that I do, I wish I would have known earlier so I didnāt struggle so muchā¦ but here we are :)
Fast forward about 8 years and I tried another oil that was supposed to help with my anxiety.
Now thisā¦ this was a game changing moment for me in my life.
I could not believe how calm, clear minded and PRESENT I felt. And then it hit meā¦ how often I did not even enjoy life because I was always worrying either about what crap didn't get done that I felt should haveā¦ or I was worrying about the future and what the next thing that āneededā to be done was.
Instead, I was in that moment, relaxed, shoulders down (which was an extremely foreign feeling to me) and enjoying my children.
Then I really was likeā¦ What. The. Heck.

It is that anxiety that I always hadā¦ that multiplied by 10 once I had kidsā¦ thats Mom-Anxiety.

It was about 9 years ago, and I was miserable. I felt sick all the time. My body hurt and my digestive issues were out of control. I didnāt want to go anywhere for fear that I would have a bathroom emergency. My mood was beyond horrible. I was anxious and overwhelmed all the time.
I knew I didnāt want to feel this way anymore.
I decided things had to change. Thatās when I made a commitment to myself and decided to invest in my health.
Staying sick was not an option. Living with my digestive issues was not an option. Continuing to make my body sick was not an option. I was all in.
So I sought out a holistic practitioner.
And I got better. A lot better.
Only to turn around a few years later and realize I was right back to where I was. I became a mother and taking care of myself fell by the wayside. And this time around it was my mental health that took the biggest hit. And that's when I decided NO MORE OF THIS.
I created an actual PLAN on what to do that was specific for ME and MY BODY.
This was my turning point.
After this, I realized I HAD to help others do the same. So I went back to school and became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and decided to start my own business helping other busy moms who struggle like I did.

The One Thing I do Every Morning Is...
Think of 3 things I am grateful for.
I do this because it helps to set me into a positive mood right at the beginning of the day. If I start with this right in the morning, all day things pop into my mind of what other things I am grateful for.

Starting your day well doesnāt necessarily mean you have to get up at 5am and do a full āmiracle morningā
(You know...the whole meditate-gratitude-stretch--sauna-cryo-therapy-take 23 supplements- make-a- green-smoothie-priming-reading-run10K-bone-broth -all before your kids get out of bed)
If you try and do too much it can be overwhelmingā¦(not to mention unsustainable)
Start with something simpleā¦ (I donāt even write mine down! I just think of them and let the feelings of happiness and gratefulness fill my heart)

Things Nobody Warned Me About Anxiety isā¦.
Nobody warned me anxiety could make me feel so out of control.
Nobody warned me anxiety would make me miss out on time with my family.

What did nobody tell you that has been really difficult as you navigate anxiety?
My Biggest Realization....
Not gonna lie...2021 had some challenges.
After 2020 I had a lot of hope that 2021 would be different...butā¦
It was tough getting used to 3 kids instead of 2, working from home and starting my own business all at the same time.
I had to make some adjustments to my expectations which was stressful.
But through all through the struggleā¦
My biggest realization was I CAN DO REALLY HARD THINGS.
And that one realization helped me to keep moving forward. I knew I was capableā¦ no matter how hard it was at times.
Now I am ready and looking forward, with expectation, to what is coming towards me and the impact that I am determined to make this year.

Itās time to talk about how anxiety makes you feel like youāre losing your mind.
Nobody likes to talk about it because you fear others will think you are crazy.
But when you are living with anxiety, this is something we need to talk about. Because it totalllly feels like this.
Three facts about feeling like youāre losing your mind
š¤Ŗ You feel like it, but rest assured you are not actually losing your mind
š¤Ŗ You have more control over your thoughts than what you realize
š¤Ŗ I guarantee another mom has felt the EXACT same way you have
My number one tip for improving the losing your mind fears is to BREATHE! Give your brain some oxygen! Take a few minutes, get to a quiet area, put your feet on the ground and take 3 deep breaths, in the nose and out the mouth.

What is Anxiety Stopping You From Doing?
When I was dealing with anxiety, I found that I was often unable to accomplish all that I felt I wanted too.
This left me feeling guilty and like I was a bad momā¦ and it caused issues at home.
I finally got to a point where I decided I was not going to let my anxiety stop me from what I wanted out of this lifetime and thatās when I made some serious changes.
Once I got really clear about what was important to me that I was currently missing out on... I was able to make the investment in myself that I needed to put my anxiety behind me and get back to feeling happy, calm and energized again.
It wasnāt always easy and I certainly did not make perfect progress butā¦
I made the commitment to myself and got the information and accountability I needed.
This allowed me to move the anxiety from being front-and-center of my life to the background where it was much more manageable and less intrusive.

Too often we rush into the new year with our new big goals and to-do lists without first celebrating what we accomplished the year before.
Celebrating our WINS no matter how big or small...(no matter if we fully hit our goals or not) is actually a very important part of continuing success.
It changes our focus from what we still need to accomplish to what we have ALREADY accomplished.
In the most basic sense... focusing on our WINS makes us feel like a WINNER...and this creates a very different (read: healthy and important) set of chemical reactions in our brain than always only thinking about all the things that we still have left to doā¦
