Marion Moss Floral Design
Say hello at 415-722-3756.
Marion Moss Floral Design specializes in beautiful, romantic, classic, lush flowers for weddings and other wine country events in Sonoma and Napa Counties and surrounding areas.
This ceremony arbor was just a wood structure. Luckily my lovely niece, Lauren and her handsome groom Chris, picked their wedding date in April when my spirea was blooming. It looks like the blooms are growing on that arbor but we placed all of that spirea along with white garden roses. April is a magical month for flowers, my favorite, I can’t wait!

Finally! I’m finishing up planting our 2024 tulips. We’re always behind on planting. I think every flower farmer can relate.
We scaled way back on tulips this year and we’re growing them mostly for our own clients.
We have some stunners including three varieties I picked up in Amsterdam.
Second picture is of my farm supervisors. They’re always around but they never help 🌸
Our last event of the season wasn’t a wedding. It was an intimate party for a special group of people.
We loved this design! The colors, the flowers, all of it. Plus we got to work with some pretty cool people 😎

The Pricing and Profit workshop@is now live on our website! December 4,2023 from 11-3 at my studio in Petaluma.
This one is going to be sooooo good! I’ve had so many conversations with my flower friends about pricing, mark ups, design fees, delivery, installation, etc.
We’ll be taking a deep dive and doing some math. There’s also a little bit of hands n design and then pricing the end result.
I’m so glad this has been requested, this will be packed full of good information!
Link in bio to register, space will be limited.
Weddings are our first love 💕
We grow a lot of flowers that we sell at our nearby Farmstand and directly to other florists. We also offer a la carte wedding flowers as well as skill building workshops and one on mentoring.
Designing and executing full service wedding flowers will always be the foundation of everything else we do.
From selecting the perfect blooms, even growing flowers just for a particular event, sourcing the vessels, to handing over the bouquet, we love our weddings!

“Grounded arches” are so lovely for a ceremony with a gorgeous view you don’t want to obstruct.
They frame you during the ceremony and can be repurposed beautifully for the reception.
We designed this one for D & T as a gift from T to D and a beautiful surprise for her. Their wedding was a lovely spring garden theme.

Designing for weddings and other events with flowers that we grow gives me so much joy I can’t even explain it.
I don’t consider myself a farmer/florist I call myself a florist/farmer.
Floral design came first. Farming is my newer love. I’ve been farming for about 6 years now. The flowers are happy and thriving and so am I.
The best part? When I get booked for a wedding a year or so out, I can plant and plan for that wedding specifically.
Wedding clients who value lush, garden style, locally grown flowers - we’re here for you! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

Color! This year seems to be the year of fun, joyful color palettes and we are here for it.
This spring anniversary celebration in March was such a vibrant kick off to our events this year. This wine cave is breathtaking, the place settings were perfection and our client loved tulips!
The floral inspiration came from the to die for plates and the couple’s love of tulips.
The best part? We were able to provide many of the flowers from our farm.

I was having a conversation via text with my flower friend yesterday about hanging installations with disco balls and this gorgeous installation we designed last summer came up.
This beauty was 14 ft x 14 ft. It took months of planning, some lumber, lots of chicken wire, some sleepless nights, fun brainstorming with , some power tools, a hydraulic lift and four people to install.
The best part? It was floral foam free, lightweight and SUPER sturdy.
Our lovely clients were a joy to work with. We had a great team at our favorite venue and we were so pleased that N&L were happy! What a great day.
My only regret is not documenting the whole process from start to finish.
Sometimes when I’m writing a proposal and looking through photos of past designs, I stop in my tracks. This one was a stunner!
It’s not just those sexy, dramatic florals, it’s the perfect red lip, the composition of the photo, the light. All of it was magic on this day.
I’ll give myself a pat on the back for this bouquet but my gratitude goes to for being such a great photographer, stylist and collaborator and also to LilyAnn Nguyen-Duong for always getting it perfect! ❤️
It’s that time of year in Northern California. The almond trees are in bloom. Early March is the best, with blooming trees, fields of yellow mustard and all of my favorite flowers - daffodils, hellebore, tulips and ranunculus soon.
These photos are from a dreamy shoot a few years back with some of my favorite creative and beautiful people.
We should do it again!
Wedding flowers create a vibe, they reflect your personality, they set the tone for your guests.
We love interpreting your vision through flowers.
We still have a few good dates available for full service wedding flowers this year.
A la carte wedding flowers straight from our flower farm.
We quietly introduced this option last year and now our 2023 a la carte flower calendar is filling up quickly.
This is such a great option for smaller weddings, elopements or just a streamlined flower order.
We harvest our best blooms, design them just for you and we do have a delivery option if it’s too complicated to pick them up.
You just order right on our website, choose your color palette, fill your cart and pay. You can email some inspirational images and we’ll confirm your order within 48 hours. Easy peasy!
I love designing these weddings! It’s one of my favorite things.
Let me know if you have questions.
By popular request we are thrilled to announce a skills building workshop for floral designers. This workshop is a deep dive into all things table scape! Candles, vessels, elevated designs, writing recipes, ordering, sourcing, pricing, transporting, troubleshooting and even more.

Workshops for floral designers.
I’ve had several people (many of whom are past attendees🧡) ask for some additional skill building workshops.
I’m in the process of outlining them right now. If you’re a floral designer please let me know what you’d like to learn.
The workshops will be hands on at my studio/flower farm/home in Petaluma. The focus will be on sustainable, foam free design and practical business strategy. I’ll be announcing dates next week!

It’s all about the details.
Nothing delights us more than adding those extra little touches to your wedding flowers. It adds so much thoughtful elegance.
A&B asked us to add a romantic touch to their chairs. You can add extra touches with a napkin tuck, adorning statues, entrance florals and so many other options.
Sometimes we like to surprise our clients with a sweet little touch.

Bud vases are having a moment. I’m seeing them on so many Pinterest boards that my clients share. I love it!
Clusters of delicate blooms in bud vases on a cocktail table or grouped down a long table are so delicate, whimsical and casually elegant.
Bud vase collections can reflect your personal style. The vessels, the color palette, the blooms, you can get so many different looks.
Bud vases are sometimes thought of as a money saving option which is not the case,
you’re simply shifting more of your budget toward the vessels rather than the flowers. It can make a great impact when done well. 🌸

This floral runner is filled with spring time favorite flowers. Hellebore, tulips, sweet pea, viburnum and more. It smelled so good!
The best part is that our client was delighted. 🌸🌸🌸
Welcome 2023! It feels time to reintroduce ourselves.
I'm Susan (on the left) owner and lead designer and Isabelle is on the right, assistant manager of all the things.
We're excited for this year with some exciting things ahead.
Full service weddings are our true love and we still have some dates available this year.
We're also introducing an a la carte wedding flower option for smaller weddings and elopements that can be picked up or delivered.
We're growing specialty cut flowers in two fields this year and we're excited about our cute farm stand on Stony Point Rd in Petaluma. We'll be opening for Valentine's Day this year.
Our farm stand will allow us to sell directly from our fields to the public. We're so excited about this!
We have some fun on farm workshops planned for flower enthusiasts and for floral designers to learn new skills.
We will continue to sell our stems to a small group of floral designers and we're working to streamline that process - stay tuned for more info.
Also, Susan is offering one on one mentoring to floral designers focusing on business practices, pricing, profitability and processes.
Take a look at our website for more information or send us a message.

One of our favorite installations from 2022.
It was 15x15, took months of planning and construction, required four people and a lift to install in about three hours, and was completely foam free.
N&L were lovely to work with, we had a great vendor team at our favorite venue, what a great day!
