👋 Kristen and Greg here to say hi! Hope your summer had sparkles of joy and relaxation. We've been hustling and definitely found time to get outside and enjoy the (not 100*) summer weather.
We are really looking forward to the fall, as I'm sure many of you are as well. As things get back into gear with school, work, clients etc we want to remind you to get in touch with any future projects you have! We've been making a lot of counter stools, and also have our furniture line offerings or can talk custom pieces. All designed by us, hand crafted, carbon negative, from trees grow in Philly. We can ship anywhere in the USA.
DM or shoot us an email! 🪑🪑🪑
All the best - your two person, carbon negative, design nerd, life lovin woodworking duo over at Fuugs HQ 💚
We are very conscious of waste in our studio, so we try to throw as little as possible in the dumpster.
Luckily we have some amazing local urban farms that we partner with to distribute our sawdust!
Here I (Kristen) am with Jasper the goat and a few chickens at Hart Lane Farm in Kensington. This place is a true beacon of beauty and care in a neighborhood that has been hard hit by the opioid pandemic. They provide community engagement, grow food to distribute to neighbors and cultivate hope and light. Please follow them, and consider helping out on a work day or donating to the cause!
We make the world better together.

Custom Draw-leaf Black Walnut Dining Table in its new home! We love our clients decision to go with black walnut. The dark wood stands out beautifully against the white oak floor and cabinets, complimenting rather than clashing.

The yarrow dining table as a dutch pull out! It's been a long time since we made one of our favorite versatile table designs: The Dutch pull out - an sliding leaf system that tucks underneath the table top, using sliding bars to easily expand or retract the leaves.
Having the opportunity to combine this clever structure with our furniture line design is a great opportunity and the table is coming along beautifully.
Sunday funday. It's been busy at Fuugs HQ but we always leave some room for experimentation 😉

Are you the ash or blackened oak mirror? Our new mirror design debuted at ICFF this year 😍
What do you think? Wanna see them as a regular item? Let us know!
We salvaged these mirrors from 1930s dresser mirrors. Sat with them for a few months considering how we wanted to use them. We're hoping to make them a part of our furniture line. Still need to figure out how to source the mirrors sustainably (thrifted these ones as all good sustainable besties do 😘)
We're thinking we'll continue trying to source repurposed mirrors to stay in line with our carbon negative priorities give us tips if you have them!
That's a wrap!! Thanks to everyone who stopped by over the last three days. We had a fantastic time 🌟
Final Day of ICFF! Come by and say hello: booth W1346
Hello ICFF!
Gred and I are headed to NYC tomorrow to participate in the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. So proud of the work we've done to get here. Feeling nervous and excited. So much gratitude to everyone who's supported and cheered on this dreamy, earth rooted, design celebrating project of ours. Cheers friends - Kristen

Hello 👋🏻 this is fuugs.
We're a two person team consisting of Greg Fuguet and Kristen Snow.
We share a background in sculpture, a fascination with the spaces people inhabit, a life long love for the ecosystem (particularly the Delaware river watershed where we live) and a passion for design.
We prioritize design, without compromising our responsibility to honor the earth and it's inhabitants.
Fuugs makes intentionally crafted furniture, by hand, with local trees.
We think this is a revolutionary idea today: to make a product that will outlive us, that sequesters more carbon than it takes to produce, and that dignifies everybody involved by making something beautiful and comfortable for all bodies.
We'll be at ICFF in a couple weeks, looking forward to it. Stop by our booth if you're there.
Contact us if you want to talk about working with us, writing about us or collaborating ✌🏻

Setting up stool seats on this warm spring day! 🌞
It took us years of searching to find an alternative leather option that was up to our standards of quality and sustainability. We are so impressed with the cactus leather from .pelle that we use for our sling chairs.
It's touch and durability are an equal match for cow leather while also being a far more sustainable option! Win win.
You can try the sling chair out for yourself at 's showroom in Manhattan or schedule a studio visit with us in Philadelphia.
Dining chairs & Counter stools in ash and blackened oak. These two wood types are our main offering primarily because we love the contrast of how these designs look in a light tan and dark black. We've found that they fit well in a large range of spaces.
Further reading: Another reality in our work is that a large amount of ash and oak trees dying right now. We benefit from the increased amount of ash and oak lumber but it's also always a concern to see certain species falling in great numbers. Climate change is the largest contributing factor to these tree deaths, warming climate increases the danger of insects and fungi.
We take climate change and our part it in very seriously which is why we have prioritized making our business carbon negative. We make very little waste and try to use as much of the trees we work with as possible. Each piece of furniture has far more carbon locked away it in, than is released in the process of making it. We know this is a drop in an ocean but we're hoping that we can participate in inspiring action and different decision making from both the consumer side and the production side.
We are thrilled to announce that Fuugs will be participating in ICFF/Wanted this May. Representing ourselves at this event has been a goal for years and we are proud and excited. Thanks for all the support, we wouldn't be here without it.
Sending out a sample pack of wood types we have available for our furniture. It's pretty mind blowing how much variety and beauty there is in our local hardwoods. All of our wood is from Philadelphia trees, milled, dried and processed by us.
We're proud that we can offer that level of transparency and authenticity to our clients and we are deeply grateful to those who partner with us in this endeavor to offer carbon negative furniture!

There's a lot of work that goes on before we get the wood into the shop! Here we're splitting a 4ft diameter oak log, too big to fit in the mill, but too nice to waste.
